Does The Path Matter?
Considering Eudora Welty's short story A Worn Path, what are your
thoughts about her premise that "The path is the thing that matters?"
Please respond thoughtfully using character, quotations, and your own
personal analysis. This blog response is due by 2:30p.m. on Friday, May 6th.

Does The Path Matter? Yes, I think matters more than the destination because it comes down to the way we walk our path and the connections you make to get to a certain destination or gateway on that path.
The path to me dose not matter its just the final destonation that matters not how you get there or what you do to get there just that once you have made it you have.
I think the path is very important because to get to your final destination you have to go through so many things and you won't know how a person got to there final destination without the path they went on. The final destination is a small part of everything then how you got there.
The path to me does matter because you are trying to get to a place in your life and you can't get to it without the path. You choose your destination and you have to follow many different paths to see where it takes your life.
I think the path is matter, good paths makes you good and bad path might made you a bad guy. That is what I think.
I think it matters to an extent. I think going down a path that going down a path that makes you happy is a lot better than going down a path that doesn't make you happy. So I think it matters some what because you want to go down a path that you want and or like in your life
Success is only achieved through the path taken. Finally grasping your dreams is an immense feeling of relief. However to get there, someone must take the path. Paths form someone to who they are and who they need to be to truly be successful in their ambitions. Working hard for something is much more satisfying than getting it right then and there.
The path does matter. There are multiple paths to single destinations so the path you take shows a lot about yourself. There are paths that are more important than the destination it leads to, like taking care of a loved one for example. It's more important for you have to been taking care of them for days or weeks or months or however long then for them to finally be healthy because it shows what you are willing to do for them.

The path does matter more than the destination. The path shapes you as a person and makes you who you are. The path brings out your true self.
It is more than just the destination, but the journey. The path makes you who you are, and makes the destination much more worth the struggle.
I believe the path does matter, simply because you go through so much, put in so much hard work to get to a certain place. That destination won't be there, unless you get on a path and take yourself there. Things don't just come to you, you have to go and get it.
The path as a whole matters to me. Some minor details might not be the main focus, but the path that leads us to something does matter overall. In some cases, the path is the better part of the journey and the end is not what it turns out to be. I always think about the Lord of The Rings when talking about how a path matters.
I think the path does matter to a certain extent. Obviously doing illegal things on your path probably isn't the ideal way to get where you wanna be. However, there are alot of people out there who have done terrible things to get to place to help people in need. Maybe that illegal way is the only way in certain situations to get to a place where you are satisfied. Path does matter somewhat but to where is it leading? Leading to a better cause? Definitely think your path before pursuing it.
The short story regarding the journey shows how the path towards goal is important because it determines the outcome of goal. If you make $10,000 dollars using two different ways then why would it matter how you made the money. Well lets say one path is illegal and ends up giving you an opportunity to be in jail and the other is from a steady job that you competitively worked for. So you might still reach that end result, but what can come afterwards is important to remember.
Often times there is a misconception that happiness lies in a certain destination rather than in a constant consciousness of existence. This form of existence is the most content path that one can take and is hard to begin to undertake due to the way that we have all grown up and been influenced. The happiest people in the world do not look ahead to another theoretical moment for their happiness, but rather find it along the path that they walk on a day to day basis. Sometimes it is impossible to be happy about a situation that is taking place and it is in these times that the most important learning opportunities arise. This emphasizes the importance of the path over the destination even further because learning is of massive importance.
The path matters because it is what you make it. You decide to take action, weather its good or bad, and as an individual you know what works and what doesn't work. The path seems to challenge you to be a bad person, but it is the people who have the strength and determination to be a good person. Depending on the decitions that are made, the path will lead you there to provide the level of "success."
I agree entirely with Welty's idea that the path matters, I know it by others' and my own experience. In sports, after the season is over, the players mainly remember the hard work they put in and the hours upon hours that they needed to give. And yes, the end goal does matter, it is always nice to receive that gold medal or cup or what ever it is that that sport receives, but if you were to look back, you wouldn't think of the moment you were told what place you got, but instead you'd think of that one great play or that moment when everything just lined up for you and your team. You'll think both of the moment and what you and your team needed to do to work for that moment. You can't just skip the path.
