I believe "The Crucible" is filled with misconceptions regarding religion and witches. There's always a scientifical explanation behind everything. "The Crucible" was a play that voiced the oppressed and told a story regarding the Salem Witch Trials. This play also showed how extreme and biased people were habiting this town at this time. All my life I've believed Salem as a place iconic for witches;but, once you think about it more carefully we realized Ergot's video could be a very reasonable explanation to this unknown question that everyone has asked themselves at least once. This video makes me rethink that if perhaps people were using religion as an excuse to perform their wicked wishes. I'm compelled to think that the behavior shown in "The Crucible" is completely outrageous regarding the insignificance of not knowing what to do when a person is convulsing and blaming it on the "unknown world". In the video, we saw people accusing innocent women to die shamefully, publically and knowing that will never will be able to prove they're not guilty.
After watching the Ergot's video I feel like there is a reasonable explanation as to what was going on in The Crucible and if the if the court in the Crucible would have thought of it it wouldn't have been this huge event and it could be what their theory was in the Ergot video and what could have been going on with Betty and others acting different than normal could have been drugs. The Ergot video makes us rethink if it really was witches or if it was the people of the community being way to upset and in an uproar about the Salem Witch Trials and their punishments if you were even seen being involved. The Crucible is a play that I think shows how unjust the characters were being and not for a moment they wouldn't consider the weird behavior to be something other than the devil inside the body.
