After viewing second installment within the A&E Fitzgerald video,
what do notice about Fitzgerald and his life as a writer? Other

Today he is more popular than he was when he was alive. He leaves a great legacy for those writers that are still writing today. Today his books make a lot of money still and has and will always be a success/.
As a writer, I can tell that it was his little escape from his messed up life. To his wife being sick, to his mistress and him not getting along, all the way to his drinking problem. I think that its cool that even through he was a drunk, he still had writers look up to him and even helped some. His birthday was celebrated even after he died. So even with all his problems and bad reputation, turned out to be one of Americas greatest writers.
At the end of his life he had lost his fame and had almost been forgotten but now he is popular again. his reputation increased after his death and was then more famous than he could have possibly imagined.
Zelda was trapped in a fire in an institution. She is now married besides Scott. Just before his death, Scott wrote a letter warning a young man about writing. He used his life as material for his fiction. It wasn't until the 50's that his works started to really become famous. His reputation has continued to grow over the year. He is widely admired by many modern writers. He stands out because he is different than many of the big-foot male writers. The country even celebrates his birthday. A life size statue was created of him. He is more famous today than he possibly could of dreamed. He knew how good his good work truly was. No matter how many personal tragedies he suffered, he always continued writing. He removed himself through his writing.
Zelda passed away in a fire that occured in the hospital. Zelda and Scott were buried by each other. The two bore so much throughout their marriage. Both strong individuals. Fitzgerald then wrote about domestic living, that then was applicable for several female writers. Fitzgerald was one of America's greatest dreamers, he left a lasting legacy, but he didn't get to see his fame peak due to him perishing.
Before he died he wrote a letter to an inspiring letter to a writer to write with his heart. His books sell thousands of novels as he becomes more known by modernists. His attributes towards love and domestic topics inspires many writers today. He impacted many woman authors. I do think its sad that he did not know how much he has impacted the literature within the modern society. It is very clear that he was passionate about writing and that is very inspiring.
He had a hard time becoming a famous writer. He used his own life to write amazing stories. I think its odd that he did not get see how famous he was to become. He sufferd many personal tragedies and became very mature.
One of the things I noticed is that Fitzgerald's legacy formed long after he was dead. I think this is partly due to the fact that his personal life wasn't respectable according to the critics, but after his life, when that isn't thought about, he is praised as one of the greatest American authors of all time.
This video showed how Fitzgerald's books became popular after he died, in the 50's. So many of his books sold and are still well known today. He is now an American literature legend. Fitzgeralds dreaming paid off and he eventually did become very successful and well known. F. Scott Fitzgerald 's 100th birthday was celebrated, he got a stamp with his face on it, and he has his very own statue.
Fitzgerald reflected upon his life while he wrote. He was successful only immediately at publication, then his books faded from the public until long after he was dead. This probably harmed his motivation in the middle and end of his life. Fitzgerald was incredibly famous posthumously, adding to the historical aspects of his work; we can use his ideas made in the 20's to educate us today about both the 20's and today's America.
As we have seen through out the videos of Fitzgerald's life, he was not as perfect as you would think. People got sick and passed away he was not as rich as maybe Zelda wanted him to be. Eventually there party life style caught up to them and they realized they needed to do more grown up things. I do think that the partying did cause them to get sick, I think that when you party for many years straight you body is going to have some troubles. Sense he used his life to help him write I think that we really got to know Fitzgerald through them, we can see the struggles and the heartbreak that he had gone through in his books.
I once again think it's amazing how Fitzgerald used his hardships as inspiration for his writings. I think it's sad how around his death his name was kind of forgotten. However, with how popular his texts are now, I think he very much deserved it. Fitzgerald put in so much of his life to his books and it all paid off. Not only that, but he did also leave a lasting legacy on our society today. This all shows how hard work pays off in the end and how you should never give up on your dreams.
Before his death, he wrote a letter. F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zelda are buried next to each other. After Scott's death, he gained a lot of popularity after his death. The Great Gatsby today is taught all around the country to many high schools kids. He is admired today because of his writings.
I don't think it's worth it to try and romanticize F Scott. He is dead and his work should stand for itself. Also Zelda's death was totally a setup by the benefactor of her will to claim the Fitzgerald estate. I think that death of the author is a powerful concept, we shouldn't need to revive Fitzgeralds image because his work exists beyond it.
Fitzgerald, like many, became more famous after his death. Fitzgerald's legacy changes after he dies and becomes much more positive, focusing on his writing rather than his personality and actions.
Fitzgerald managed through life and made a lasting legacy even though he had a very rough life. People nowadays love his work and argue he knew he made a legacy
I noticed that Fitzgerald tried so hard during hiss lifetime to make a name for himself and his family. He often lost sight of his dream because he found taking care of his family more important but he always continued to work on his writing. I think that he would find his success today very surprising because it seemed as if he didn't think he would ever be as famous as he was today. He probably didn't consider himself a ver successful person because he didn't live to see his fame. But we know nowadays he would have been very successful.
I think Fitzgerald had a pretty eventful life but overall he was very successful with his writing considering it is still very famous today. Fitzgerald was a memorable person and lived his life very big. He wanted to be a huge success but he really became famous when he died. Everyone knows what the Great Gatsby is and I think that was his goal.
After watching the video, I found it interesting when they said that, "He (Fitzgerald) was one of America's Greatest Dreamers". Many people thought of him as a hero, whether it was for his passionate and famous literary pieces, or the fact that he faced a lot of adversity and was still able to become successful and famous. Also in the video it was stated that he was not appreciated as much in his time as compared to after his death, which I thought was very interesting as well.
Although Fitzgerald may not have had the most wonderful or enjoyable life, he made an impression on the world that many will never forget. He had many successes in his books and writings that have inspired and affected many people. The appreciation of his work and the legacy thereof mostly began after his death, probably because of his character and his actions when he was alive.
FItzgerald's life can be seen through many different lenses. One lense shows the life of a depressed alcoholic who struggled to stay afloat during arguably one of the worst times in American History. The Great Depression. He married a wife who eventually cheated on him and developed schizophrenia. His drinking continued to impact his day to day life, as he gathered a negative reputation in Hollywood, until he died of a heart attack at the young age of 44 years. Then theres another lense. This lense shows the life of a middle class boy who grew up to go to one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. He grew up to do what he loved best, which was writing. He wrote many great novels throughout his lifetime, and found the love of his life, as he continued his journey through life with her.
After watching the next part of the documentary on Fitzgerald's life it is sad that he became as famous as he is now after he died. He was called one of america's greatest dreamers but he wasn't seen as incredibly famous until after his death. But if this was different it might have changed his later writing pieces or life story.
After watching the fifth part of the Fitzgerald film, I think that Fitzgerald used his writing to reflect on his life and talk about it, without directly telling people what was going on with him. It seemed as if he were not comftorable talking about himself, so he did it in writing.
After Fitzgerald had passed away he was buried next to Zelda. After his passing, he gained a lot of popularity from his books and movies. Fitzgerald has had many ups and down in his life. He had a lot of drinking problems and relationship problems. But those problems helped him through his writing and that's why he was successful in life.
Zelda passed away in a fire and she was then buried next to Fitzgerald. Even though their marriage wasn't perfect, they went through a lot together. After he passed he was remembered for his books and movies. He left a lasting legacy and even started to branch out on the subjects he wrote about such as domestic living which became even more relatable to a lot of women everywhere.
