After viewing the second video of Fitzgerald's life I have additional observations. He was determined to support his wife and himself by going out to get a job, although he did not enjoy the job. He loved Zelda and bent over backwards to support her as best as he could, but she then put the engagement off. He wrote about post-war outcomes with a sensational outlook, "This Side of Paradise." He craved for fame.

Fitzgerald and Zelda seem to perfectly embody the roaring 20s being partygoers and flappers. They were infamous for being risque and telling it how it is. I like the romantic aspects of their lives because it really just fits with the work of F Scott.

Going back to my previous comment, I feel as if Fitzgerald writes about things that are somewhat present in his own life. Throughout his writing, he mentions the class system in which as the ability to dictate others encounters with each other. Fitzgerald also seemed to be unimpressed by the task to write short stories in order to get money but desired to return to his true desire, writing novels. The books he wrote showed the way that Fitzgerald and his wife interacted. Throwing parties, and engaging in controversial activities, which he later mentioned in his books which sparked conversation. Fitzgerald sure knows how to start a conversation.

One part of the movie that stood out was Fitzgerald and Zelda's breakup. At first, Fitzgerald didn't handle the break up well and had a three-week drinking spree. After those three weeks, he went to live with his parents and wrote and published a book called "This Side of Paradise" which wrote about his college days. Zelda came back to Fitzgerald because of the success of his book.

I noticed that he used what was happening around him as inspiration for his writings. Also that his success partially came from the fact that he broke through a wall that not many else would when he wrote about things that were considered risky like what the young people were doing at that time. He seemed to let the public and what was considered to be most successful slow him down from doing what he really wanted to do which was write novels.

Fitzgerald had a lot of up and downs where he thought that he was finally happy and then something bad would happen. After he finally became famous Zelda accepted him. Because of his lifestyle that forced him to make more books. His drinking got him into a lot of trouble.

Fitzgerald's low income cost him an engagement. He later submitted a novel 'This Side of Paradise' which was realeased and by the end of the day completely sold out. He wrote dozens of short stories for man Sunday morning newspapers but he hated that it took time away from his real passion, writing novels. His next book, 'The Beautiful and the Damned' was later published and reflected some of his personal issues. His next masterpiece would be 'The Great Gatsby'. He wrote many drafts of each chapter.

After watching the second part of the video about Fitzgerald's life it shows how many obstacles he has had to overcome through his life. He hated his advertising job and Zelda broke off the engagement because he did not make enough money. This pushed him into a 3 week drinking binge and he had to move back into his parents house. Finally his first book was sent to publication and it was very successful. He got Zelda back and they had a daughter. They moved around a lot. After his second book was published him and his family moved to europe where he started writing his novel the great gatsby. He wrote many different drafts of the same chapters.

Fitzgerald life as a writer was up and down Zelda broke up with him when he was not successful and then when she heard we was successful she decided to marry him. Once he was published life became more extravagant for the two of them, they were the talk of the town and everyone wanted them at their party. But their life became a little too extravagant so they moved to Europe but they still did not stop partying. I think that the way the video describes his life is how the Great Gatsby lived his, partying and a problem with a relationships.

After watching the second video, I've been given better insight into the making of The Great Gatsby. His lifestyle with his wife Zelda really encapsulates the time period known as the Roaring 20's and the alchoholic swirl that came with the youthful lifestyle.

Fitzgerald is a very engaging writer, I love his passion. I think it cool that he was like the ¨king¨ of the jazz era. His life seemed very extravagant and chaotic, which I think highly influences his writing.

I noticed that a lot of his stories and novels are reflections of his own life. I also noticed that his life isn't very positive and he goes through a lot of trials. This seems to be due to his rambunctious ways and how he seemed to party too much.

I noticed through the videos how hard Fitzgerald's life was. He had a hard upbringing and faced many challenges before the success of his writing. His life became better with his writing, his marriage, and the birth of his daughter. However, his life once again was upside down because of alcoholism. Then, the writing of the Great Gatsby helped improve his life. I think his life shows how life is really a rollercoaster and everyone faces hardships but also triumphs and that you should never give up on your dreams.

Fitzgerald served in the military and fell in love with Zelda. After getting broken up with, Fitzgerald became an alcoholic and lived with his parents. There he wrote his first book and got news that it had been publish. Soon after, Zelda got pregnant and got married. I notice that Fitzgerald had been an alcoholic before he wrote his first book. Maybe during his hardest times in life he used that power and turned it into something that made it worth all of that. Soon after, he became a well known writer back then and still today.

This part of the documentary highlights more reasons for Fitzgerald’s writing. Fitzgerald first wrote to be glorious, making up for his failure in the army. He also wrote his first book in order to win Zelda back, which I consider an unusual motive for writing. Fitzgerald was most interested in writing novels, and the other jobs he held were mere distractions. Fitzgerald seemed to be distracted from his work by partying, inspiring his move to Europe to work on The Great Gatsby. This revealed that writing was not often his main enjoyment in life.

Fitzgerald seems like an alcohol addict and whenever something goes wrong he drinks. He seemed like a hazard to all his friends and pushed them away. He seemed to not care who he even married and was carried away just because of looks. Fitzgerald always was focused on finding meaning in life.

I noticed the Fitzgerald was very wild. He partied a lot along with getting drunk really badly and very often. Even after he moved to Europe he still partied a lot and got drunk. This got him in trouble a couple of times and he almost ruined a good relationship with some good friends.

Fitzgerald's decline was very apparent. His exceedingly self-destructive lifestyle was not good for him or those around him. It appears that writing was the only thing that would bring him out of his 24/7 binge. If a person's life is mostly determined by drinking and attending parties, then they don't have a very valuable life.

Fitzgerald seems like he has gone through a lot in his life and this makes it so he had a lot to write about. he went through a lot of hardship and work and that probably contributed to his writing. When he got his writing published it was probably a huge relief because he wrote about his personal life. He lived during the Jazz age which is what the Great Gatsby was written in, his experiences definitely contribute to his writing.

F. Scott Fitzgerald was an average worker, and Zelda wanted a rich life, and not just an average life. She seems to only be with him for the money aspect. Zelda got back together with him after he started to become famous from his first book. He wanted fame and with that he got it from his first book. His book sold almost instant. Zelda seemed happier, but apparently he still wasn't making enough. In the summer of the 1920's Scott started The Great Gatsby.

It definitely seems that Fitzgerald and Zelda were products of their time, falling into the many stereotypes of the people of the 20s. They lived very carefree lives, hosting parties and maintaining a constant state of being inebriated. Fitzgerald's success in his novels did not seem to cease because of this lifestyle he decided to live, but in the end he still decided to retire from his party life to focus more on his writing.

Fitzgerald was a man who was almost normal. To his average work to his writing. But because of this, Zelda was with him because of the money. When the fame and money came in... so did she.

While getting the fame he desired from his first book, Fitzgerald started on The Great Gatsby. Zelda, loving Fitzgeralds success, stuck along for the money, not for him.

After the relationship between Zelda and Fitzgerald ended, he became severely depressed. He drank every night for weeks on end until he eventually moved in with his parents for a short amount of time. During this time, he wrote "This Side of Paradise". It could be easily argued that the tragedy and sadness in his life during this time was projected onto his writing. After the release of his book, Zelda and Fitzgerald had reunited.

After watching the second interview, I am still more empathetic towards Fitzgerald. I now know about his drinking and mental health issues, and I feel bad for him. However, it is inspiring to see how he eventually dealt with adversity, and got his life back under control.

After watching this interview I feel very bad for Fitzgerald. Now that I know about his drinking and health issues I can see how that adds an extra layer to his troubles. H did a very good job dealing with adversity and now his life is under control.

I just find it very awful how Zelda only wanted to be with him because he was rich and famous. That would really suck to have someone only be with you because you can give them something, and that feeling must make a person feel so replaceable. That feeling of being underappreciated must drive Fitzgerald's drinking problem to be worse. He sounds like a very insecure man.

Since Fitzgerald has gone through a lot in his life, I feel like he has a lot to write about. He was determined to support his wife and provide for him family which created this drive within himself and made his writing even more powerful and relatable. He did continue to party and drink a lot which ruined a lot of external relationships but he streamed this sadness and sense of allienation into his writing.
