After viewing "A man named Pearl", I thought about what things in life are actually important. For Pearl, crafting the bushes and trees in his garden into fantastic pieces of art was what he loved to do and thats all that matters. For him, he didn't need to be working from a computer all the time or doing more "normal" things for work. Gardening was what brought him true love and enjoyment in his life. It related to me in my life because I really like to skateboard and even though I may not be able to make a career out of it, I can still do it to have fun. It doesn't matter if it won't really get me anywhere in life, it brings me happiness and that is the true theme behind the movie; to never stop doing what you love to do.

The movie made me think about all the things that a single person can achieve. Pearl was an inspiring person and he inspired so many people throughout the country. This movie made me feel like I could do something and that the American Dream can come true.I liked the movie and found it interesting and a good investment of time.

After watching the video, A Man Named Pearl, I became very inspired and was able to see that the very little things can be important in life. Pearl showed people that he doesnt care about himself and cares more for others. He is not prideful in himself even though his name is known very positively in the town. Pearl was able to find a hobby that made him happy and many other people happy as well. He was able to let you see the true beauty in life and nature. It inspired me to express myself and not care about what other people think because you may end up inspiring other people with it in the future.

"A Man Named Pearl" was an inpiring story to me. Pearl had a passion that he put to use and lived out more than I have seen anyone do before. It was inspiring for me to watch him continuously work at his passion and never give up. As stated in the movie Pearl was a "self made man" which to me seemed as though he was a man who took the little that he had and made an amazing life out of it. Trimming trees and making a passion out of it did not require a lot of money, or power. It is all out of his heart for the good of himself and everyone around him. Pearl made a difference in the way I view my life and the passions that I have.

After viewing A Man Named Pearl it made me contenplate that everyone has a different passion to pursue. Pearl loved trimmming his trees and bushes... he loved it so much that thats all he did. It made me realize that in life you have to do 'your thing' because someone elses 'thing' is not yours. Often in life people tend to dwell on the negative but Pearl truly does what makes him happy and I think that is the essential to living... Doing what makes you happy.

Through the viewing of "A Man Named Pearl," I was inspired to try new things. Pearl did the same thing everyday for over 30 years but then found a love for topiary. To paraphrase what I personally found as the most inspiring quote, Pearl said that golfing made no sense to him and that a golfer may think that gardening made no sense to them, but it doesn't matter. I found this especially inspiring because it basically said that a person can do whatever they want to make themselves happy, even if it doesn't make sense to others around them. I think that everybody can learn a lot from Pearl knowing that sometimes a person may not find their passion early in their life, but at some point everybody can find something that they do better than anybody else.

The video "A Man Named Pearl", I have noticed that people don't respect what other's care for deeply. People are so self absorbed in their own mind, their own thinking, that they forget that sometimes what means SO MUCH to you, really doesn't matter to someone else. Everyone has something that they are good at, even if its being decent at a bunch of things. We were all born with different gifts and we were all meant to do something in particular with our lives. Sometimes people are so focused on what the "typical" thing to do is that we forget about our gifts and about the things that we love. Not every person can be a lawyer or a doctor, we need people to paint, write, do topiary, and yeah, we need people to work at fast food restaurants. Everyone should stop judging each other and just accept the fact that what you think is awesome is not necessarily what other people think is awesome. I love to sing, and some people think that nerdy. But whatever, its what I love and I'm going to try to keep it a part of my life forever; just as Pearl stayed with his love for topiary forever.

once i was done watching "A man named Pearl." It made me really want to find something to love as much as Pearl loves his garden. I thought it was interesting how he fell in love with gardening from working at factories, two just very different doings. He just has so much passion and love for what he does it is very inspiring.

After watching A Man Named Pearl, I became intrigued and inspired by the "rags to riches" story displayed by Pearls journey to achieve something that he truly loves to do, although the path to greatness may have been a tough one.His story inspired me to pursue my dream, even if it may seem impossible to achieve at times, the movie made me realize that impossible things can be done, only through hard work and drive.

After watching the Documentary "A Man Named Pearl" I realized many things in life. He made me realize that no matter what happens in life that you can always accomplish your goals in life. Pearl went through many struggles in life and had many hardships that slowed down his journey of life. Though he had harsh words thrown about him he still kept doing his job. He loved to trim bushes and trees witch for some reason had a large effect on the way that I looked at him. He seemed to be only doing what he wanted it seemed. Which was happy and exciting to see that he turned a hobby of his into an amazing art piece that people from all over the country travel to see as well. Weather he gained lots of money from it or not, he still is doing something he loves and you can tell that he really loves doing it by the way he acts and treats it.

After viewing "A man named Pearl", my hope in the wellbeing of the american dream has been slightly restored. Because the american dream is fallowing your heart, and doing what brings peace and happiness into your life, not simply making a lot of money. I do not believe that Pearl makes a lot of money from his work, and he is perfectly fine with this insignificant fact, because the happiness and peace of that man is something that i wish i could achieve in my own life. And if i can't, then i will give it everything i have to get it. But if a person does not even try to find their happiness and peace, then they all are nothing. Just a walking dead man with no purpose, no meaning, and no reason to live.

The film A Man Named Pearl made me contemplate and think deeply about the meaning of life. I realized that it is not about how much money or possessions that one has at the end of their life, but instead it is measured by the amount of happiness and joy that your past years have brought to you. The paster in the film says, “Sometimes blessings come early, sometimes they come later in life but they will come, and they are always on time.” Pearl shows that his blessings come later in his life then most, but he is grateful regardless and makes the most out of his ability to create a extraordinary garden. I imagine that Pearl is an inspiration to all who know his story and see his work, because he has inspired me.

A Man named Pearl made me think about alot but one thing that stuck out to me that made me think more than anything other was the impact that his parents played on him as a child and young adult. He said that his dad faced adversity and that he had very little education but still imposed many good ideas and morals into his son, Pearl. Although my dad is very educated and didnt go through much adversity that i know of i believe that he played a huge role in my childhood and still does today by imposing some of those same morals. It also got me to think about what really is important in life to you. For Pearl that he thinks is important in life is to just be happy and do what makes you happy, i strongly agree with this and i hope one day my job will be a fulfilling job that makes me happy and one that i enjoy doing each day.

The documentary entitled "A Man Named Pearl" focused on an average man who was not blessed with a bright future like many other Americans. Pearl, who was the first person in his family to be educated had little money and lived in the deep south during a time of intense racism. He did not let any of the early obstacles deter him from being a successful man. Pearl made a beautiful life out of little opportunity. Through the viewing of his movie, an underlying message of the ability to achieve one's greatest desire was present. Many white folk judged Pearl when he moved into a predominantly white neighborhood. These people judged Pearl from the outside before getting to know him. Thus, the movie taught the lesson of not judging people until their true colors are discovered. I was inspired by Pearl and appreciate everything that he has accomplished.

Pearl was a man who had a vision and went after it. He found what gave him joy in life and he went after it. Nothing held him back; he still had a job during the day, but Pearl would come home and work even during the night on his topiary. In the video, one of Pearl's friends quoted, "he has proven that you can do something with practically nothing." And that is exactly what Pearl did. He started out with a yard, a few plants, and maybe a few gardening tools. However, Pearl worked his way into creating a beautiful garden that "serves as a place where people can go and feel love." Pearl created something new. Something that he can call his own and because of that, so many people look up to what he has created as well as himself as a person. Pearl has inspired so many of his friends and family as well as people around the world to go after what they in-vision for their life. Pearl shared that having good grades isn't everything, but if you fight for what you truly want to accomplish in life, you will succeed. Pearl motivates other to find a passion in their life. A visitor of Pearl's garden quoted, "Because Pearl found a passion, good things are attracted to him and I find that a beautiful thing."

After watching the film "A Man Named Pearl", I thought about how passionate he was and how he gained so much from doing what he loved. He just went for it even though he didn't have any background in growing plants. He made me think about my life and how doing something you love is so much better, even if you don’t know how to do it. He showed great determination and skill by just working hard at something that he truly found enjoyment in. He went beyond his boundaries and set out to do something unique. I found it really interesting that he had no idea really how he was going to shape the topiary trees and it just comes to him, while he works. I thought that it was a really inspiration film and led to many different ideas. It made me personally think about what i am passionate about and what is truly meaningful to me.

When Pearl spoke to the art students he said that he would simply tie two branches together and in 5 years it turns into a work of art. This is very inspirational to me because it lets me have faith in my future and teaches me that by focusing on the simple things now they will turn into something much larger and significant. It also shows that patients will pay off. Pearls passion goes inspires so many people and many different ways. He took his fathers advise and became someone through what he enjoyed and proved others wrong who doubted him. I also think its amazing that he creates works of art without having any experience and teaching himself.

As i was watching A Man Named Pearl, it made me think about all of the different ways people decide to express themselves. Everybody is very unique in their own special way, and the best way to show it is through art. Art is like an expressive language. A language which everybody can contemplate however they like. I found Pearl's technique of expressing himself very interesting because it just portrays his abstract mind in such an exotic way. Just through his art, Pearl is showing the world his strong bond with nature in such a beautiful way. It is so different from anything anyone has ever seen which makes it stand out over the whole neighborhood and across the world.

The story of Pearl is what I believe to be the story of the American dream. Pearl started with nothing given to him and no support and he turned his life into something meaningful. He took something small that he had a passion for and with his dedication and hard work he turned it into something huge. He was able to see past the bad and envision something huge. He started by taking plants that everyone gave up on and left to die and he turned them into something that everyone admires. He shows that anyone can follow their dream and lead a successful life. Success can come from any area of life if someone has passion and dedication in that area. It is inspiring to see someone who came up from nothing and beat the odds to make a name for himself and enjoy living life everyday. The way he lives his life and does his job is also amazing. He takes pride in everything he does and acts selflessly puting his immediate interests lasts. He seeks to improve others lives through his talent. It makes me think about what I can do in my life differently, how i can take something that I'm passionate about and take it from being average to being outstanding and use it to make the lives of others better.

I thought the movie was better the second time around. This time I saw more of the adversity Pearl and to go through to get where he is today. The think I like about Pearl besides his voice is that he does what he loves to do no matter what others might say. It seems like he is at peace with live and to me that is truly aspiring.

A Man Named Pearl is an inspirational story about a person who found happiness through self expression of emotion. He allowed for his own personal enjoyment to be shared with other people too by giving beautiful original creations to people he loves, and also letting even those he doesn't know come enjoy his garden. Pearl had a way of turning something that potentially cause a clash between social difference (Fancy high-class gardens) be things that brings people together and not apart. The passion and uniqueness of Pearl's garden create happiness not envy.

Pearl is a man who has found happiness and contentment in a unique way that does not necessarily follow the typical american dream. His passion for the simple delicacies in life has inspired me and hopefully many others. It brings me content in knowing that i do not have to be rich or prosperous in order to live a fulfilled, and ultimately happy life.

seeing the video "A man named pearl" i started think about all the small thing in life, that someone or i would really enjoy doing for life. like what pear does trimming bushes and tress into exotic shapes, and transforming it into a amazing garden around his house, he even went around town trimming up the place making it look good, also visits art schools and tells students about what he does and demonstrates his work. but the greater meaning behind the video was to tell you to do what you love to do and enjoy the little things.

The video " A man named Pearl" really opened my eyes and made me reflect on what I really wanted to do with my life. By watching him do something that brings him so much joy it makes me want to do something that makes me happy too. When he talked about how money wasn't everything and how if you were doing something that brought you happiness you shouldn't be doing it! I think I will look at life with a different approach after watching this video. Focusing on making myself happy and doing the things I love.

After watching, "A Man Named Peal," I started to contemplate my purpose in life, or at least my purpose in the things I do. Pearl was a man that created a wonderful life for himself, but not only himself but others. Through his art and his work he brought others happiness and joy. He did what he loved and he did it with constant passion. This made me think, what do I truly love, what am I passionate about? And do I bring that passion to what I do everyday and in every way? Pearl definitely did and I began to realize that I need to also. In the movie Pearl said "Different strokes for different strokes," and I find that to be true, we all have different passions, and we all bring different skill sets to what we do. But passion and determination is what sets us apart from each other. We can all do great things, Pearl is an example of that, we just need to passionate and dedicated to the things we love.
