The American dream to me is about overcoming struggle and hardship for a better future. It means going against the odds for something you believe in and not being afraid to try something different. However it is difficult to say what it means exactly, because the American dream is, in reality, just what you wish to accomplish in life. Americans just are a great example of this aspect and how it was successfully done.

The version I have pretains to my aspirations to be successful in life and do what I need to do to accomplish theses goals. I have already been through a lot in life and grown with maturity, beyond my years. So my American dream is already in the process, because I just want to be happy and grow in the process. I may not know exactly what my actual dream is, but I'm slowly learning how to be the best person for myself and this country, and hopefully be a great example of the American dream.

Overall, the American dream is in the process for every person, because it is life and overcoming an obstacle or hardship for what you believe in, is the dream, that we all hope to achieve on a daily basis.

My American Dream starts with peace and freedom, in unity with one another. With these two keys to life I will be utterly always happy, but without peace and freedom, happiness may be a struggle or may be blocked. We always have to go on with life no matter what sets us back. The only way we grow and learn from something is if we experience it and gain better knowledge of whatever set us back. I want to be able to talk with my family and be close with them but also my friends. I have the freedom to decide what religion I want to believe and practice in. To me that is my American Dream: happiness, peace, freedom, and unity with friends, family, and God.

My version of the american dream is probably similar to many other peoples' versions. I think that the american dream is to be free. Many people come to this country in hopes of finding the freedom that I was born with. I never have to ask anyone except my parents to go somewhere. I can pretty much say anything I want and no one can tell me that what I think is wrong. We have so many freedoms and they are all laid out in the bill of rights. Based on the amendments in the bill of rights, we have the freedom to do basically anything. We have the freedom to bear arms, we have the freedom of speech, and we have the freedom of religion. Our freedoms are almost endless which is why that is the american dream to me.

My version of the American dream is not about freedom or liberty exactly. When I think of the American dream I think of becoming who want to be as a person. I believe that to become the best person you can be for yourself you need to find yourself first. To be able to do this you have to try and fail multiple times to really find out who you are. By living in America you have the opportunity to do as many different jobs, activities, etc., as you want till you find the one for you. Being able to do this gives you a better chance at doing what you have a passion for. Doing something that you love helps you learn about yourself in a deeper way. By knowing yourself you can be the person you want to be. That is my version of the American dream.

My version of the American Dream is very simple. To have the basic elements of a good life. This consists of love, happiness, doing what you desire and the support of friends and family.

Love is one of the most important things we find in this world. Be with someone you want to be with. Dont be pressured and held in a relationship that you are not comfortable in.

We think of happiness and possessions and money. But the real truth is those can make us happy, but the more important aspect is using them to help others and not just yourself.

Last, do what you desire. Sports, dance, singing, etc. Your friends and family will suport you in whatever you decide for your life.

The American dream can be explained in any way we so feel. Whats your American Dream? Are you living it?

To me the American Dream is to have happiness and have a good strong family, that is family oriented. Spending time with eachother and not having technology in the way to destract people is a main point in the American Dream. I am at fault for wanting the newest piece of technology and for technology getting in the way; but that doesn't mean it's right in anyway. To me that is the American Dream: having peace, happiness and family.

For me the american dream is the idea of not haveing to be forced in to a social class. I beleive that no matter what your family has don you can do something compleatly difrent. Just about every thing you do with your life is up to you. If you want to succed and start a company you can as long as you work hard for it. in turn if you dont work for what you want then you really have your self to blaim. To go along with that i also beleive that america is a place to start you own busness and do things as you want to do them.

The American Dream to me is freedom and happiness. Many people come to this country looking for the freedoms that we are granted and the claimed happiness that you can find. Sometimes we take advantage of the privlege of freedom that we have. As a citizen of the United States we have rights such as freedom of speech and religion where as in other countries you are not given a choice, you are controlled by the government and not give freedom. Another part of the American Dream is happiness. Some people come here looking for success, a career, and a family, bringing the happiness they expect to find here. Our freedoms and happiness are daily aspects of our lives which is why they are The American Dream to me.

My version of the American Dream is overall based upon happiness, money, family, and health. To me it is the idea of a perfect life. Not many people have the opportunities Americans have so things shouldn't be taken for granted. I think that having money is one of the big things that will lead to happiness. People say money isn't everything but to me it is a big part of what makes people happy. If you don't have money you can't own a house or support a family so how is that being happy? Also, when you have money, life moves more smoothly. Having a family is another important part to the American Dream because most people want to grow up, get married, have kids and live an ideal life. The American Dream can be analyzed in millions of different ways, the one that applies to YOU is the one that YOU think it is. Lastly, I believe health is the most important factor in being happy. Being healthy leads to confidence and hope to live as long as you can. Truly, the American Dream is the way an individual pictures it for themselves.

I believe that the American dream is different for most people. People that come to the United States are seeking freedom, a right that we take for granted here in America. Granted most of us here in America are born here we are automatically permitted total freedom. Therefore, maybe someone from a different country believes that by coming to America they can be free and have equal opportunity for success. For United States citizens the American dream is a little different however. For those that have been born in the United States are already granted freedom and other opportunities that others outside of this nation can only dream of. I believe that United States citizens American dream is to have success and do the best they can to be happy. Success to Americans I believe is making money and happiness today can only be achieved by your material items. I strongly believe that if someone isn't making a decent amount of money and doesn’t have some of the nicest things that are out there that person will not be happy which is indeed wrong of all of us but it's simply reality.

I think the American Dream is still the same as it was back in the 1600s. People came to America for free religious beliefs and to own land and be be successful. Today people still think of the American Dream as a wish for something greater. However it only comes to those who work for it. Being successful, making money, getting married, having kids, and enjoying life takes effort. If one supplies enough work they could possibly reach the ultimate prize of the American Dream.

Defining the American dream for me is like trying to define a the idea of the perfect day, no persons idea will be the same as anothers, and when thinking of the american dream isolated in my mind, coming up with my own definition, I draw a blank, I know what it should be, but i just dont make the connection. If my American dream is to be happy, why wouldnt it be called the Denmark dream, after all they are number one in the world in terms of happiness, the U.S. isnt even in the top ten. If your american dream is to become successful in life and make money, should your place for your dream not be Luxemburg?
In my opinion the "american dream" is a constricting term, tunnel vision in which to set our goals. I believe that as our world grows more and more molded together by technology, the concept of an american dream becomes more and more trivial, and the concept of a goal or dream without restrictions becomes more and more relevant.
My dream is to instill a certain amount of contentness in people, for i believe the opposite emotion is the biggest poison of man including myself. It seems to me the root of all evil, any aggravation begins with a lack of contentness and grows until it becomes something completely different such as anger, fear or sadness. While the emotion of contentness will never exist in all people for that is human nature, I believe any increase I can create of this feeling will leave the world for the better.

President Jimmy Carter describes the American dream with these words, "Everyone has a right to peaceful coexistence, the basic personal freedoms, the alleviation of suffering, and the opportunity to lead a productive life." However, to me the american dream is more myth and folklore then an absolute truth. The american dream is the belief that life will be 'perfect' with little problems or predicaments. However, it is common sense that this will never be true in a painful world. The belief of the American dream propels people to strive for perfection, but obtaining such hopes is simply an impossible task to ask of anyone. The American reverie, or the belief that economic, spiritual, and political issues will reach equilibrium, is simply and utterly unobtainable. The American dream put in primitive terms is a hallucination that helps propel people to be successful, but in reality the illusion will never materialize.

The American Dream can be many things, to me it is happiness, having a loving famiy and friends, keeping peace with everyone and especially living life to the fullest. Everyone has their different views on "The American Dream" but most people do want happiness. Somehow not everyone gets it. If the people want happiness and want something in thier life so much wouldn't you think they would strive for their goals? It's hard to not fall into the trap of wanting something new and wanting to be known or famous. But if people strive for happiness they should live in the moment and not in the past or the present. I beleive that if people did do that they would be able to be happy and not live in a life of just wanting more. The American Dream can be way more than people think it is. I really beleive that the American dream does involve happiness and to live every moment to the fullest.

The American Dream has been the same ever since people came to this country; to be able to worship the religion of your choice, and to be free in general. I view it as this idea too, but to also have a family and to be happy.

In many other countries, people aren't given the freedom that we take for granted everyday. Every aspect of their lives is controlled by their government. And by not having such freedoms as we have, they arent as happy as we are. People from all over the world leave their countries for the US, in order to have freedom, happiness and success. In the US, we take freedom, and success for granted. We complain about being told what to do, new laws that are passed, and saying that its taking away our freedom. But in other countries, people dont have any freedom at all. We take success for granted, because all anybody wants is to is to be rich and be able to buy expensive things that they dont need, but want. All the people that have a lot of money always want more, even though they are very successfull and already have so much money that they dont know what to do with it. My American Dream is simple, to be happy, to be successfull, and to have caring family and friends that support you no matter what you do with your life.

Get money, get paid. Yeah there is more to life than being rich, but having money makes any situation better. As much as I love Biggie, he was wrong… More money, less problems. What are the biggest problems in the world today? Hunger? Terrorism? Racism? All of which are solved by economic inequalities which are a problem that no person or even country can change. But a person could change one thing and that is their economic position in the world. Instead of spending all day complaining about these problems why don’t you go out and get a job? A true American wants to put them self in the best position to live a fulfilling, happy and safe life. This goal is nearly impossible with insufficient funds and constant economic worrying. So no matter what your vision of the American dream is, it will be accomplished much easier with substantial monetary backing.

The American Dream is many things. I think that the main part of the American Dream is to be successful, have a family, make a lot of money, stay healthy, and live a long and fullfilling life. That is what everyone in American aspires to. Among the goals of people trying to achieve the American Dream is making a difference in the world for the future and living your life to the fullest. To make the future brighter and fill it with hope is among the most important aspects of the American dream. Being able to overcome hardship and surviving the worst of circumstances so that we can perservere towards the better higher quality of life. It is not something that comes easy. It is something that everyone has to fight to accomplish and aspire to.

To me, the American dream is to find happiness in everything you do. Many people believ the only way to find happiness is through gaining money and power, but i believe the only real way to achieve the American dream is to pursue what makes you happy and don't let anyone, or anything, hold you back. It is our divine right as Americans to be allowed the freedom to do what we want and say what we want. While we should enjoy this freedom, we should not abuse it by using it to hurt or offend other people. We should feel greatful to live in a country that allows us these rights and we should obey the few laws that we have for they are only put in place to help and protect us.

The idea of the American dream today consists mainly of only a few details surrounding ones lifestyle. The first and most prevalent, money. America today and as it always has, runs on a monetary system with the wealthy upper class living a healthier and better life. Without money in today’s society a person is unable to survive because the essentials such as clothes, food, entertainment and more need payment to obtain. So even though the American dream started out as an idea to obtain a comfortable living, the overall objective now surrounds making enough money to be able to do so.

I believe the american dream is ambicion, having a set goal you want to aquire by the end of your life. The great thing about america is that anyone can come here with an open mind and achieve what they believe is most important to them. In the silk stockings story Ms. Summers realized that with the money she came acrossed got to fullfill a day of luxury, which in some cases is what some families have to face, but with knowing of the luxuries you can work your way to making the luxuries an everyday ritual.

The American Dream to me is living the life you want to live. Having fun with no regrets. Being happy no matter what happens. Standing up in what you believe in. This applys to people because every day someone stands up in what they believe in to get their voice heard. If people just realize that life is to precious and short, they would know that they should spend everyday like it was their last.“Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.”

The American dream can have many different interpretations. As a whole however, the main article addressed I believe is the struggle to overcome hardship in any shape or form. The founding of this country could be affiliated with the effort to begin a better life, rather than being oppressed by England. However, we have somewhat headed back in the same direction that we had sought to avoid over the centuries. In simplified form, the American dream is the effort to achieve a better lifestyle, not just individually, but for the country as a whole. Individuals may prosper but in a sense, how would that differ from the monarchy with nobles as the English had established prior to America's birth? In reality the two societies are very similar. The effort to better the country all together demonstrates the true intent of what most American's would find to be correct.

What is my American Dream? This question puzzles me because I look around and realize, every living person lives differently; every living person has different views and opinions. So how can every living person all want the same thing? I'ts never going to happen. Personally, my American Dream is to be successful and live easy. But I don't want it handed to me. I want to earn it. After reading the Silk Pair of Stockings by Kate chopin, Ms. Sommers realizes that at some point, she has to go back to reality and she can't be that wealthy forever. I on the other hand, want to reach the point where I become successful and can stay satisfied because I know I've worked for it.

I think that the American dream has changed alot since our first ancestors came to the new world. When they first arrived it was more about finding hope and a new way of life from old rulers and faiths that they didnt want to follow. I think that in todays time the American dream focuses more on how big your house is or home many cars you have or how much money you make. People for get today that the american dream was focused more on finding happyness and a new start to life not how much money you make.

To me, the American dream is to be succesfull by gaining money, power, and respect. I believe that those things along with happiness and freedom is the general understanding of the "American dream". Immigrants come to this country with promise of a new start. They are given the chance to do whatever they wish with their lives to try to live confortably by obtaining great riches. However, if we were to talk about ones dreams, and only ones dreams, I believe that it is different branches and modifications of money, power, and respect.

As for me, my dreams are to live my life how I wantto live it and not have anybody or anything hold me back. I want to experience life and make the most enjoyable situations out of everything that I do.

My version of the American Dream is being able to settle down and create something that has value to you. Something like finding peace, serenity, and freedom in your life. I believe the American Dream is something that differs from person to person and is defined individually. There is no right or wrong to the American Dream but I think many people value it more then others. To Americans it is easy to classify the american dream as something materialistic. But to someone who is striving to reach America and better their lifestyles the American Dream is finding a family and success. Being able to emjoy freedom and live life the way they have always wanted. I think it is easy for the American Dream to be skewed and seen in a different perspective for those who take everything for granted. When living the American Dream we should be able to observe the world around us and learn from it instead of letting it act on us in a negative manner. In my opinion the American Dream is a privelage that many take for granted. In order to live it you need selfcontrol so you dont go beyond and begin to appreciate things less and less.

The American dream is about freedom to the people that trust on the USA, this particularly dream comes from the idea to get a better life to the people in this case american people, this kind of idea has a great impact on the peoples life because, it makes life easier for them to get a job, house, credit, cars, and other staffs. Also helps people on their economic part because it gives them another type of payment, like a budget so they can fit the money they are going to spend for life. But this dream is not about getting all the protection of the government, but to make people secure in their aspects in life, so they make people secure so that they have a more confidence life to make the country go up.
