I am excited to read this book! I have seen the movie and it is really good. The book (and the movie) have this sense of joy through them. I like the era that they are set in and I am excited to see how the book and the movie are different. I am excited to find out if there are deeper meanings within the story and I can’t wait to dissect those ideas. I think that this book has a lot to do with American society and it has affected it a lot. I want to know why it was so impactful, and the only way to figure that out is to read the book.
It's not a plot-driven novel, there are three major deaths in the novel, there is a lot of sex and things that are not right. Such as cheating, sex outside of marriage. There is little to no trust in humans. I think that this has some interesting elements that might be a interesting mix together. This text is one of the greats in american literature and this interview has made me curious. Wanting to know what its all about and the full plot of this story. I think the interview jumped around about what the book is really about and if it is truly one of the greats.
Listening to this made me excited to read the book. I don't really know anything about it but from what little I heard it sounds exciting and you could really tell that the lady speaking about it was really passionate about the novel. I think that this book is a classic and has affected lots of people in many ways, so I am excited to see how it affects me and how much I can learn about the book.
If this woman has read Gatsby 50+ times, I definitely should read it at least once. Knowing from the beginning that the Narrator isn't necessarily credible may cause me to question him from the very beginning of the novel. I am interested to see what happens in the book.
After listening to the video I'm thinking that during that time period it wasn't book that was normal to that era it was racy and the book has unreliable people and that you cant trust people's actions.I also noticed that they talked about how its a disillusionment like a fantasy land.During the interview the women talked about how at first it wasnt a book she wanted to read but in the end it was one of her favorites because she gave the book a chance.
One of the most intriguing parts of this interview was when the interviewee explains how she doesn't trust the narrator as right from the beginning he lies about his judgment. This is interesting to me because I would have always believed the narrator in every novel is the higher, most pure, unbiased view in a story. Not once have I read a novel where the narrator was un-trustful, so I look forward to see how this person cannot be trusted. Also hopefully I will be able to enjoy story, but given how the interviewee explained she couldn't enjoy the book based on the story, I will be on the lookout for not just the story but the style and themes that make this to most one of the greatest american novels.
I'm so excited to read the book again! I loved the hope that the narrator expresses. I also find interesting how she said at first she didn't trust the author because he contradicted himself by judging. The Great Gatsby also promotes no trust in humans and fate. The women also said that when she first read this book and she didn't like it in high school and now, it's her favorite novel.
The Great Gatsby is one the most talked about novels. I've seen parts of the movie and by how the lady in the audio talks about how in love she is of the book, I am very excited to read what the story has to offer.
After listening too The Great Gatsby interview, it is decided it is one of the most popular book. It seems like a book where it's either a love or hate novel. I believe it is more loved and endured by our generation rather than the generation from that time because it wasn't one of the normal books. The text and words were a little fast, a party mischievous life, and a love sankn story. It seems more for the new generations just because we understand some of the mischief more and the love partaken within the text.
