“A Worn Path,” by Eudora Welty is a powerful short story depicting perpetual love and devotion. “The path is the thing that matters?” is a striking quotation that force’s any reader to reflect. In this short story a frail, old African American woman named Phoenix Jackson ventures into the wilderness in order to obtain medicine for her grandson who suffers from a throat illness. It is this path that Phoenix must take and this path only. Because the path is extremely traitorous and difficult to walk through, if Phoenix succeeds and gets the medicine needed, it will increase the odds of her grandson being cured. “The path is the thing that matters” reflects that in order for good things to happen, a path must be navigated no matter how difficult.

The short story, "A Worn Path," by Eudora Welty, demonstrates the importance of "staying on the path" and pursuing what your goals are. Phoenix Jackson pursues her goal by following the path to get important medication for her grandson. Even though the path could get difficult and distracting, she pushes forward to obtain what she needed. The short story symbolizes that no matter how tough it can be at times, putting your head down and moving forward can be your best bet.

The short story, "A Worn Path," by Eudora Welty illustrates the importance of how you get somewhere instead of the destination that you arrive at. The quote, "The path is the thing that matters" reminds us that it doesn't matter where you arrive in life as long as it was worth it. It reminds us of the importance of the journey. Many times we go somewhere but we remember more about how we got there than what we did at the destination. The path or the journey we take determines where we end up. We could think we are going somewhere but one wrong turn and we end up somewhere else. This is the same way with the future. We could be trying to reach one dream but something could get in our way causing us to take a new route and eventually try to reach a new goal. The path you use to get somewhere determines your future.

Eudora Welty's story A Worn Path is trying to get across the message that its the path that matters. This is because as humans we tend to look at the destination as the thing that matters. When really its the things we learn and experiences along the way to the destination, that we will remember. When reading the story A Worn Path, the things you remember aren't when Phoenix Jackson gets to the town. They are all the crazy things that she goes through in order to even reach the town.

Welty describes a journey of an old women, Phoenix Jackson, to pick up medicine for her grandson who is in need. Along the way she encounters many hardships such as barbed wire. Phoenix becomes entangled in the barbed wire yet she finds a way out and continues her journey. This is an example of a trial set in her path to test her determination to get to where she is going. These hardships are what make Phoenix into an unwavering hero in the end

In Eudora Welty's short story, "A Worn Path," she uses Phoenix Jackson's journey to get medicine for her grandson as an example of her premise: that "the path is the thing that matters." In the story, it is unclear if the grandson is alive or dead. The reader realizes that it does not matter, because the fact that Phoenix was willing to make the trip either for her grandson or in her grandson's memory proves that the process is more important than the end result. In life, this is often true. For example, when I play sports, I enjoy the practices much more than the games or competitions. The process of working with friends and coaches to better myself is more fun and fulfilling than one short tournament. In this way, the path is the thing that matters.

The short story "A Worn Path" by Eudora Welty is a deep story that puts the reader on an adventure. Phoenix Jackson, the main character, travels on a journey to retrieve medicine for her grandson that is in need. To me "the path is the thing that matters," means to me that the road to success is what matters in life. Everyone has a path and a destiny, but it's how you get there that matters. No matter how difficult the journey for medicine is Phoenix Jackson will pursue it in order to save her grandson. I believe that everyone has a path that matters.

"A Worn Path", by Eudora Welty is an inspirational short story that introduces the idea that "The path is the thing that matters" to the reader. My personal reaction towards this idea is agreement. I think the path is more significant than the destination. The hard work, determination, and journey are what makes wherever the destination is worthwhile. The path shows loyalty to one's goals, ambition, and determination. The destination does not make one stronger, the journey to get there does. Overall, I agree with her thoughts and the theme of her short story. I think she has an inspirational idea that has the ability to motivate people to step back and look at their life in the present rather than focusing on their destination. We all arrive at the same place eventually, it's our choice of course that truly matters.

"A Worn Path," a short story, written by Eudora Welty shares the path that Phoenix Jackson followed. "Don't let none of those come running my direction. I got a long way." This quotes displays Jackson's dedication and confidence in the path she was taking; she wasn't going to let anything stop her from getting to the end of the path. "The path is the thing that matters?" Everyone is always on a path, no matter which direction they seem to go. The path is the journey you take to reach where you want to go. The path is where the struggle and hardships take place.

The story "A Worn Path" the journey is the reason. This story shows a grandmother that travels through a lot of dangerous things to get her grandson medicine. The whole story leaves an open thought, is the grandson still alive. This is where "the path is the thing that matters" comes in. Whether or not he is or is not, the grandmother needs the medicine and the journey for him because she promised him that. The journey shows a lot about a person. Someone can set goals and never truely obtain them, or can do things selfishly. A path can be for others or for yourself. People do things to better themself, rather than do things for a genunie reason. Phoenoix is a lonely grandmother that takes a journey to keep the thought of helping someone else. I belive the path matters, because it is the way you get to where you want to be.

In Eudora Welty's short story A Worn Path, I found that the path is the only thing that matters because that is where someones character, attitude, and personality come from. The first thought that came to mind was in sports when you hear about a players path that was taken to get them where they are today and that story is usually pretty telling. Sometimes that path is even more talked about/ cared about by the fans over how they are performing for their school or team. Just like Phoenix the end result matters but it's basically a heart warming story to see the struggles she perseveres through to achieve her goal and it makes the reader happy when she makes it to town and home.

In the short story A Worn Path Eudora Welty is illustrating that the journey one takes in life is more important than the final stage of one's life. The process is more important than the product. The hardships and pleasures that you expercience in your life is what you will remember. The final destination of your life has little value or importance. The importance lies in how you lived your life and how hard you worked to get where you are.

Yes the path does matter. The way you live your life, or "the path" is the thing that shapes your character. It's what makes you who you are. Your character refelcts what kind of a person you are based on your actions. If you take the wrong "path" then you probably won't be a very good person. That is why the path matters

The short story "A Worn Path", by Eudora Welty proves that the importance of life lays with the journey not the result. It doesn't so much matter what the result is but the path to get there. An example is the journey to CEO of a company. The job itself is great but if poor decisions were taken to get there then it is not worth it. In the story an old women travels miles to get medicine for her grandson. The son we learn in the end may be dead. This emphasized the point that it doesn't matter the outcome, but the fact that the grandmother is willing to take the journey after all this time. The path is the most important part of life.

I think that your path in life defines who you are and what you have done to become the person you are. Phoenix's path in life consisted of providing for her grandson. It may have been a struggle at times but she stayed focus and was always there for him, supporting him. If everyone stays focused and aims towards getting to the end of their path in life, they will succeed in living a successful life.

The path in life wis all that matters in life because if there is a degree you have that shows the time and energy you put in then they are more likly to get the job because it shows commitment. Phoenix shows that she is willing to put her family ahead of herself and her grandson far ahead of her. If everyone focused on the current path they are traveling then they will come up short in what their life goals are.

"A Worn Path" by Eudora Welty is a strong short story demonstrating love. After hearing, "The path is the thing that matters," it made me think about how the journey is far more important than the outcome. This is showing people can get to their goal, but the path they take to get there is the most important. I agree with what is being said because the person one becomes along the path is who you really are. The final outcome shows just a minor result of the path that was taken in order to get there. Also in a Robert Frost poem he stated, "I chose the path less traveled by." He was going to make it to the end either way, but he chose the path less people traveled on so it was unique.

The path that you choose to take in life is very important because it is all about the jouney and not the destination. This is portrayed in the short story, "A Worn Path" by Eudora Welty which is about your struggles and the love in your life. What you go through during your journey, like your hardships can show how strong you are and what type of person you are.

Does the path matter? yes "the road is all" it doesnt matter where you are if you forgot where you come from. You dont learn when you are at your goal its when your on the road to your goal that you learn the lessons that are so importaint to life. A worn path is a path of gold Because it has led many people to there goals. If we lose sight of where we come from what will motivate us to continue on that path.

The short story, "A worn Path's" message is, the path is important. Jackson is dedicated to the path she has chosen and has no doubts. The journey that he is taking is too bring medicine. I think that this shows character in the fact that one does as he says. He does not back down on his word. the "path" that he is taking really shows a lot about him as an individual.

The path you take in life is what truly matters because it is what defines you as a person for other people to see you as. if you fill your path with horrible things then that is all people will remember you as when your gone. So when Phoenix walked the path just to get her son medicine even if he is already passed but we dont know for sure it shows her love for him and the drive she has to do whatever it is she can to better hiss life.

The Path in the story is what matters because it it the only certain thing in the story. In the essay after the short story it says that " the habit of love cuts through confusion and stumbles or contrives its way out of difficulty, it remembers the way even whis it forgets, for a dumbfounded moment, its reason for being. The path is the thing that matters." I believe what the writer means by this is that the bath is her reason for being alive or having anything to do in life and its a journey that takes you through different expirences that makes or changes the person you are.
