I noticed that as a writer he, tends to have many failures in his life. Even though he had many failures, he never gave up in his life, he may have had a drinking binge he still pursued writing. He writes about dark subjects like war and a place without a God. His novel exposed what the young people at the time were doing. He was the king of the jazz age and Zelda was the queen of the flappers. They were both very creative and daring people. They never stopped moving around, even with a new child. He wrote short stories, but he did not enjoy short stories he wanted to focus on novels. It wasn't until he moved to Europe that he wrote "The Great Gatsby." Alcohol was definitely a problem in his life, it caused many broken relationships.
His life and success didn’t come easily to him. Yes, he was good at writing, but he had to work hard to get where he eventually got to. He had to work for his family and for his money. At the same time, though, he partied a lot and celebrated his success. He had a wife who liked to party so they never stayed still. They always were moving around and experiencing new things. His writer life didn’t start right away, he had to work at it. The writing process also wasn’t extremely easy for him. The process of writing a book was lengthy and tough, but he did it.
Fitzgerald didn’t necessarily have the most happy and simple life. He seemed to struggle with his relationship and being a hero early on. He used writing to help with his struggles, both personal and financial. He knew that The Great Gatsby would be his best writing and I find that interesting.
The second part of the fitzgerald video focused on his adulthood and got more into his writing. His first book sold out the first day to start his career as a writer. Immediately after we see fitzgerald partying and having a great time. In this video fitzgerald is shown as a indulgent type who parties and drinks a lot with his wife. This is a good representation of the famous lifestyle because him and his wife indulge in the lifestyle that so many famous people do.
Fitzgerald was an alcoholic but this didn’t change Fitzgerald’s brilliant way of writing. His passion was writing novels and he absolutely loved having a very fancy way of living. With the money that he was earning and the liquor that was given to him and his wife, he couldn’t concentrate in America. Even though, he moved quite often. He had to settle in Europe in order to write The Great Gatsby novel. It also had several drafts of the same chapter and then edit them to all together create the novel.
I notice how his life kinda started to fall apart. He started to rely on alcohol to find joy in his life. He would go to parties and get so drunk he would destroy people's property. He had a daughter but I can't imagine him being a good father with all of his drinking. He also had a tendency to do work that he hated just for the money instead of writing the novels that he wanted to write. He also did not appreciate what he had, he just lived life in a crazy way and did not stop at all.
I think his life as a writer was eccentric and was done in small portions. He was an alcoholic and was obsessed with party life. He was a decent person with an addictive personality. His writing was done in small portions and he had done it so slowly that he would take a long time to write his stories. He was a man who wanted glory but was more concerned with being in party's.
success was not easy for him. He has his ups and downs but soon enough he started to publish books and the books were sold out within the day of it being sold. He started to have parties and binge drink for weeks after weeks. He cared about his glory and making sure that everyone knew that he was rich and the higher man. He was addicted to his glory and hosting parties but he never stopped writing books.
Fitzgerald's life and success in life did not come easy although he was good at writing, he had to work very hard to get where he did in the end. He was a partier he drank a lot so much that he was failing so many classes he had to drop out. He had to work for his family and for his money. He was drinking more and more. Writing became harder and harder with his life becoming more and more problematic.
He focused heavily on what others thought of him and thought very highly of himself. His books depicted what he desired with bits of him mixed in that made them less than perfect. If he had written for other reasons it might have been easier for people to relate.
I find this video to be inspiring because although he went through struggles and hard times in his life, he continued to pursue his dream of "The Great Gatsby." So I find it inspiring that he failed countless times yet he continued to have hope about the story and eventually it payed off for him.
Fitzgerald seems very troubled, he is an alcoholic and after he got rich off of his first book he became very wild which isn’t very smart but he keeps producing books and keeps making money. As a writer he is very smart he uses very good word choice and keeps the reader interested.
It was hard for people to relate to his writing at first, and really didn't get a lot of good reviews when the Gatsby first came out. He liked to focus a lot on himself, and thought that he was a pretty high priority compared to others. After all, I was surprised to hear that the book didn't get good reviews when it came out.
Although Fitzgerald was a great writer, success in his works were hard for him to find. His life starts to fall apart when he turned to alcohol and parties for comfort. Because of this, relationships got destroyed. He started to write just for the money rather than for the passion of it. It took him years to finish novels but outcomes were still great.
What I noticed the most about his writing in part two was that he was more motivated because his life was coming all together with becoming known as a writer and then marrying Zelda and having a child .He started becoming more popular because of all the short stories he was publishing .
Given the statement that he was a great writer. Fitzgerald lacked combat experiences which he deadly regretted. He has such an addictive personality which resembles in his drinking habits back in college, and his drinking habits after his divorce. His novel captures him in a different persona which basically exposes the generation the young kids, and what they do. His thirst for fame is something that couldn't be relieved from him because of his addictive habit.
His writing shows a completely different side of him. It's almost like his writing was his escape from life. Even when things were going good for him, Marring and having a child, his stories became popular and his name became more famous. He was a guy who never seemed like he could give up even if he tried. He had a hard life but he kept fighting it, and his stories helped him out with that.
