"All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I
turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I accepted their answers
too, though they were often in contradiction and even
self-contradictory. I was naïve. I was looking for myself and asking
everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer. It
took me a long time and much painful boomeranging of my expectations to
achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with: That
I am nobody but myself.”

How do these two relate to my world? One is a man, finally coming to the realization that he was made to be himself, and what or who he was looking for the whole time was really himself, however abstract that may seem. The other is a regular person who endevored to do something he loved, however trivial and simplistic it may have seemed. He wanted to be good at riding a bike, and because he accomplished his feat(not without his share of scratches, bruises, and possibly broken bones)he became practically famous. This relates, because im shown that I was made to be me, and I can be really good at something if I put forth the effort. We should reexamine our lives to look at it from a strangers standpoint. If we are doing something that makes us happy, in the short or long run, then we should stay with it. However, we must realize that often we do something because it "needs" to be done, rather than because it is beneficial to us. Though it may sound selfish, we shouldnt do anything unless in one way or another makes us happy. Going to school isnt always fun, but getting a High school degree will make me happy. We should always do our best to live life to the fullest, without regrets. We are people. Human beings that have a soul, and that soul will at some point see the need to express itself. God, though some may not beleive it, has given us the ability to create and we should do our best with it. We were made to be ourselves. No one can be you quite like you can, so we should do it with everything we have. Academically, we should strive for excellence, but not perfection. Why put the extra strain on yourself unless you really need it? however we shouldnt blow things off. We should do our very best, and I garuntee that it will be a lot better than we think. Thinking about things that are so great that they are recorded, even famed, and sometimes go as far as to make history, inspire me to do something like them. Life, in the end, is nothing but memories. So why not have great ones?

The inspirational pieces of "the inspired bicycle presentation" and Ralph Ellison’s quote are easily related to my everyday life. The inspiring bicycle presentation can be related to both my athletics and my academics. Although athletics may have come easier to me, in order to become a better athlete I must learn the values of working hard and practicing every day just as the bicyclist had to work hard to conquer his tricks. These can be related to my academics because although school may be more of a challenge, I know doing well in school is very important for my future. I must work hard in school in order to accomplish my goals of changing lives when I am done with school, and doing what I love. Watching the bicycle presentation was very inspiring. All I could think about was how much pain he had to endure in order to get to where he is today. He may have thought at one point in his life that what he has accomplished was an impossible feat. I may think some things are impossible at this point in my life, but with hard work and hope anything is possible. Everyone should look at their lives as a blank canvas. They can either be completely original and change lives and follow their dreams, or they can stand in the shadows and not work very hard and do the bare minimum. I like to look at my life so far and be proud of what I have accomplished, and dream to accomplish much bigger and greater things as I grow up. I hope to be proud of myself no matter what anyone else's opinion may be. Seeing the bicycle presentation a second time made an even greater impact. Now that I’m older, I understand the importance of hard work and following my dreams.
The inspired bike presentation and the quote both relate to my world in very strong ways. In the inspired bike video this man does stunts that look impossible, but he takes the time to learn what hes doing, and not let anyone tell him otherwise. In my life it’s very similar because I bike, and play baseball. When I was younger I always looked up to the major league players, and was always impressed with how hard they threw. I knew that if I put in time and work, I too could throw hard. This quote provides me with a somewhat different perspective on life and how you can accomplish things, if you do it your way. I think the way that we should examine our lives is to ask ourselves “are we happy with what we're doing,” “If not then what makes us happy.” Also I think in most humans it’s instinctive to challenge ourselves to see if we can do it our own way. We are who we want to make ourselves. If you want something bad enough, there’s nothing that can stop you. Everyone has dreams and aspirations in life, and some even achieve those dreams. Anyone can achieve their dream in life but they have to want it bad enough. Sometimes we have sudden realizations and want to change or add something more to our lives. I believe the presentation and the quotation can relate to our academic endeavors because if we want a certain grade we have every capability to get it. The bike video inspired me to go out and do what I want to do in life and make it happen. I had seen the bike video once before and got the same feeling from it when it was showed to me again.
How these two relate to my world is that everyone is looking to be themselves even if they don't know that they are looking. Another thing is people never ask themselves what they should do with their lives. Everyone askes everyone esle on what to do. These two things changed how I look at life. They made me see that I don't have all the time in the world and that if there is anytime in the world to be yourself it is to be yourslef all the time. We should live our lives doing everything that we want to do. I think that everyone should follow their dreams even if they can't come true. If a person doesn't follow their dreams then they will never know if they were able to do something. I think that the presentation and the quotation can connect with our acdemic endeavors because if our dreams are to become the president or something like that, then the student needs to know everything they can learn. This video did inspire me because I love to surf and even though I live in a land-locked state I can still do something I love when I put my mind to it.
The Ralph Ellison quote and the Inspired Bicycles presentation are related to my world because they are about being yourself and to pursue your passions. The quote says not to look for others to answer your questions about who you are, because the only person that can truly answer those questions is yourself. And the Inspired Bicycles presentation is about a man that had a passion and a drive to become a professional at an activity that he loves, no matter the cost. The presentation relates to me because if I have a desire to achieve a goal, and if I am willing to put the time and effort into it, then I can achieve it. Like in snowboarding, if I want to become a better snowboarder, then I will need to put the effort into honing my skills to the level I want. In our lives, we should be who we want to be and pursue our passions. Living life fulfilled and enjoying life is better than living life just trying to get through each day. The presentation inspired me to go after my interests and work at being able to do so. If he can become something as wild a professional trial biker because it is his passion, then if I was to put that same effort into a passion of mine, like snowboarding, then I could become the snowboarder I want to be. And the quote motivated me to be myself and not to ask for others’ definition of who I am because the person they describe will not be who I really am. After seeing the presentation again, I have a better understanding of the importance of following my passions and dreams and how important it is to work hard to follow them.
The inspired bicycle video was astonishing. When I saw this video, I didn't quite know what to think. I just watched, and cleared my head. I didn't want my thoughts to be getting in the way of the extraordinary film in front of me. After the video was over, I had plenty of time to wrap my head around the concept of talent. They say everyone is born with a talent, but its up to you to find out what's yours is. I have been searching for my talent all my life. I did soccer, cheerleading, cross country, and even gymnastics. Those sports were a great ride while they lasted, but that's just it- while they lasted. Passion is temporary. It's courage that's permanent. Being able to do things you never thought you could do, proving others wrong. Proving yourself wrong. Working hard and making a name for yourself. That's how we should live, free. Nothing holding us back- not even fear. Talent doesn't necessarily have to involve athletic ability, it could include academic achievements. Such as trying your hardest in school, because this is where it all counts. We do our best in school so that we can live our lives the way we always planned. The quote by Ralph Ellison made me question, why do I allow others to tell me who I am? Or what I like, what I can achieve? If I don't think I'm doing my very best, I will disregard every word coming out of another person's mouth. I need to feel accomplished of everything I do. Just like the man in the video. What I loved about the film was that it didn't cut out any of his errors to make the viewers impressed by his skills. No. It showed him falling, messing up, then starting over. Simply because it's not realistic to be perfect. Those who pick themselves up and work harder the next time are those who succeed. Life without courage is like the sky without a sunset, still nice to look at, but it never takes your breath away. I am motivated to live my life each and everyday by trying my hardest so I can achieve greatness.
The Inspired Bicycles presentation and the Ralph Ellison quote can definitely relate to my life. The video really paints a picture for me of how hard work can pay off. He has probably been working on his skills for years with many let downs but he never gave up! It really shows what hard work gives you in the end. This can relate to my academic and athletic life. Putting in the hours and hours of practice and homework, and not calling it quits half way through can really pay off in the end! The Ellison quote can also relate to my life, especially now because, now is the time I need to know who I am and not let others tell me who I am. The quicker I figure that out the less time I spend boomeranging back and forth. I really think I am on the right track right now to. I think we should all be doing something that makes us happy and something that can better us now. We never know how long we have to enjoy what we have so I think that living everyday to the fullest and giving your all is the way we should live. If its possible to fulfill our dreams now then with out a doubt do it! If the dream you have is out of reach then keep striving to make it happen! The video and the quote both inspired me in a way. To me they said do what you love, and what can make a positive influence on your life, don't let others decide for you. Once you know what you love, give it your all! Every time I see one of these videos I am in awe, it gives me something to work for. When I see videos like the bicycle video it makes me want to work harder so I can be proud of what I do.
The Inspired Bicycles presentation and the Ralph Ellison quote were both moving and motivational. The Inspired Bicycles video helped me see a new perspective when I was in dance class. I dance on a competitive team, and just like any other team, every individual has their special talents that help improve the team and motivate others. It is always hard to see someone who is so much better than you at a skill and it is very hard to remember that at one point they couldn’t do it. The video reminded me that every professional started off just like me. The Ralph Ellison quote reminded me that I cannot be anyone but myself and I should never try to be. Everyone has their talents and even though I might not have the same talent as someone, they might not have the same talent as me. People need to stop living their lives trying to be as good as someone else or to make someone else happy, we are who we are and no one can change that. Not trying to be someone else relates to academics because not everyone is good at the same things but you have to start somewhere. The student attending Harvard Medical School didn’t just know everything. They started off in high school biology just like everyone else. The video and quote show that if you chase your dreams with drive and passion, anything is possible.
The Inspired Bicycles presentation and Ellison quote relate to my world by how I am a special person and different from everyone else. I do not prefer to compare myself to others because that is not being different. Both the presentation and the quote gave me a new perspective that we can not ask others what we should be since that would be hiding our identity. We are each a wonderful daughter or son of loving parents who cares about us and we are diverse. We shall live by being kind to others, not gossiping about others, caring for each other, and encouraging one another. The presentation and quote can connect with my academic endeavors by the way I try my best on my homework and classwork, and my school assignments are my own completed work. They inspired me that each person has such wonderful talent to share that we need to encourage others to do their best and be there for everyone. Both the presentation and the quote did make me look twice. The presentation motivated me that I need to practice, practice, practice at piano so I can share my talent and become a better musician. The quote motivated me that I should have a positive perspective on who I am since I am me.
The quote by Ralph Ellison and the bicycle video can be compared to my world and everyone else's. In life we all go through a period where we wonder what life is about or if we can achieve our dreams. In the quote we read about a person struggling to find out what he wants to do or what his life about. In the end he is looking for something that will make him happy. I personally belie he is looking for God who can fill in any void of emptiness. But well we are on Earth there are a great many things to do that are good and will bring pleasure for a short amount of time. That is what the bicycle video is about. The man fulfills his dream of doing crazy stunts on a bicycle. While watching the video one gets the feeling of accomplishment and the happiness of hard work paid off. These two pieces of inspiration make me want to get away from questioning myself and realize that making dreams and great memories come to life is important. I can choose to be depressed in Ralph's world, or I could take charge of my life and do all the crazy stunts I want to fulfill in my life.
The Ellison quote and the Inspired Bicycles video can both relate to my life and each challenge I face. Watching that one motivated person accomplish such astonishing challenges on his bicycle was so inspiring. It gave me new ideas on my own hopes of success. That desire to do what is seemingly impossible gives me a new perspective on what I may be able to achieve in my life. After seeing the video, I concluded that I can go beyond my own expectations of my self. I can push myself to exceed any of my craziest dreams. Along with the video, the Ellison quote pointed out the fact that, in the midst of our search for identity, we must realize that we are no one but ourselves. Each experience, every person we have known and loved, and all the places we've seen, have molded us into unique individuals. This is so important to remember as we strive to succeed. We should live knowing who we are and where we come from. This way of life is seen in the bicycle video. His talent is unique and personalized. His personality is so evident in what he does, and he has made sure to do it very well. Both the video and the quote can relate to my academic endeavors. There are subjects in my education in which I excel. However, there are others that can be very challenging. I know who I am, where I can succeed and what I struggle with. In school, I use this knowledge to be the best student I can be and accomplish what I never though possible.
I think that what the quote is saying is that you have to find for yourself where you fit in to this world. Everybody can relate to this quote because everyone is looking for where they fit in in the world. Ralph Ellison touched on a really good point when he said that there are some things in life that we have to find out for ourselves. I think that it is really important to live your own life and not let other people answer questions for you or make decisions for you. The “Inspired Bicycle” video shows that if there is something that you like to do, do it with all your heart. The video shows how important it is to follow your dreams and to never give up on what you believe in. Both the quote and the video say that it is important to be your own person and to do what you love. If you haven’t found what you love yet, don’t give up, keep searching. One day we will all find our place in the world.
The Inspired Bicycles presentation and the Ralph Ellison quote relate to my world in many ways. My life is full of people telling me how to live or what I should do. I am one who is also very indecisive and I ask people their opinion. Some decisions I and only I can make. Decisions I must make for myself soon is what i want to do in life, where I want to go, and how I want to live. They provide me with a new perspective that I can go out and do anything I want to as long as I show effort and excitement. We should examine our lives by thinking positive. If something happens you don't want to happen, go out try again or just accept it. We should follow our dreams if reachable, It may take a while but its always possible. The presentation can definitely connect with my academic endeavors by pushing me to strive for more. I don't think they made me look twice. They did inspire me to organize myself and push for better. My new reaction is that I can start from not knowing how to do something at all and with time be able to master it. In many ways I can push myself for more.
The Inspired Bicycles presentation and the Ralph Ellison quote relate to my world because they both show me that I can just be me and by doing that I can do whatever I want. The sky isn’t the limit because there is a foot print on the moon. The video did definitely provided me with a new perspective on being an athlete. What he was doing was awesome but it was also something that not the average person/athlete would do. Not a majority of people do competitive swimming, and not a lot of people think it is that “manly”. This video helped see that I can do what I want despite what people say. Everyone should live the way they want to and follow their dreams no matter what they are. I don’t need anyone’s approval but mine. Out of both the presentation and the quote, the Inspired Bicycles definitely made me look twice. It made me look twice because what this man was extraordinary. He took the basic sport of cycling/BMX Biking and turned it into something completely different. He is great what he does but he is not perfect. he messed up several times but got back up to do it again and get it right. This motivates me to better and what I already do well. I will Try harder at what I love (swimming) and even when I mess up I will get back in the pool and do better eveytime.
The world likes to tells us many things like who we are and what we are supposed to be and how we should dress. A major part of life is about trying to discover who we are and its hard not to let other people determine who we are. Ralph Ellison talks about how he is "nobody but himself" and that is what every individual should try and do. We are all different and people need to except who they are. I have, for the most part, had this view or perspective and I believe it is important for everyone to have this perspective because than most people would have more self confidence and they wouldn't be worrying about what other people think. This video and quote is inspiring to me because it reminds me of who I am and who I want to be without being concerned about what others think or say. We all possess a certain talent or characteristic that makes us unique and we should use these things in life. Your talent can determine what you do in your life and where you go to college. This is where this quote connects to academic endeavors. Yes this quote motivates me to keeping being myself. The video reminded me that if you set your mind to do something you can do anything.

Both of these inspired Presentations do not really relate to my life. I have never really gone out and done something that if people saw, that they would be inspired. Both these people are famous for inspiring people because of there knowledge or there skills. Yes they do provide me with a new perspective. They make me want to go out and inspire other people like they did! we should live for inspiring people and for God. We should always follow our dreams if they are good dreams and they will help yourself and other people in your lifetime. Yes they did make me look twice i watched this video a few times once i got home. It really inspired me! Like i said my reactions are to go out and inspire other people.
This relates to my world because it's about a guy in search of answers. He goes searching for them by asking other peope, but no one can help him. He soon decides that only himself can answer his questions. Everyone is different and has a different plan for their lives. No one is alike. This has given me somewwhat of a new perspective. You can't ask other people who YOU are. No one knows you like you know yourself. That question is for you to figure out on a journey called life. I don't believe anyone knows fully who they are. If they did, then they wouldn't have a reason to live. Each day I think we come a little bit closer to realizig what characteristics sculpt the person that is "us." How we deal with people, and react to problems reveals clues as to who we are. We should live each day with new goals and confidence in ourselves to achieve the improbable. If you believe in yourself, then you can do great things.

We each have a voice, maybe not physically audible, but we all have something to share. Sometimes society drowns out those voices, and the only way to get our point across is to scream at the top of our lungs. In the video Inspired Bicycles, the "author" could have chosen any other sport-- soccer, basketball, swimming. Not to say that nobody should play those because they are generic, but not everybody needs to play them. The biker used his ingenuity to create a beautifully filmed, edited, and executed video. He used his talent to inspire others to go after something-- some of his tricks seem impossible but he found a way to do them, and we should do the same. We should go after what we are good at. The quote from Ralph Ellison promotes this idea, “ I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer.” Looking in ourselves is the only way to find what makes us happy and can help us decide what will make us happy for the rest of our lives. People are not inherently generic; society makes them that way. If everybody found their talent and embraced it rather than doing what everybody else was doing, our world would be a richer, more intellectually stimulating place.
The Ralph Ellison quote and Inspired Bicycles both relate to my world because they both try to convey that people can tell you what they think you should do with your life, but the only one that can decide with what to do in your life is you. After seeing both of them I now realize that everyone is their own person and no one can tell them exactly how they should do something. People can give you hints on how to do something, but in the end you are the only one who can decide what works for you. This really tells us a lot about our lives if you examine your life are you a sheep that does what everyone says and never does your own thing. Or are you an individual that tries to be themselves and will listen to what others say, but at the end of the day you are you. Now the quote and the Inspired Bicycles both make me ask who am I and who are we as humans. These questions are not straight and simple like one might think. We all have our own definition of who we are. Mine is, I think no one is inherently special and no one is unique. I mean when you’re born are you automatically better than someone else? No, you are not. People think that everyone is special and that is wrong. People have to work hard at being special. If you look at Einstein he wouldn’t be a famous scientist if he didn’t study science. Picasso wouldn’t have been a famous artist if he didn’t learn to paint. So truly no one is special or unique, but everyone has the chance to become special or unique. But just asking who we are doesn’t help us as humans, even if you know who you are you also need to ask how should we live. This also is difficult question and again everyone will have their own opinion. I would answer this question, To live your life you also need to know what you love and once you find out what you truly love, you follow that to the ends of the earth. So you must ask yourself are you truly being special and unique or are you a sheep in a sea of other sheep.
In my world, I am searching for answers and accept failure when I do not find them, but failure does not stop me from getting back up on my feet to find those answers. Inspired Bicycles showed a guy that did not care how long a stunt took to set up and would go for it, if he failed he would analyze what he did wrong and give it one more try. Just like in The Invisible Man only the bicyclist could answer right from wrong and then improve the way he thought he should. A new perspective was given to me about how one bicyclist and one character did not get frustrated with failure but accepted it like an old friend until success was achieved. People far too often fail and give up on things in their lives that once made them happy. So how shall we live? We must follow our dreams and understand that success is not something that is given, it is earned. The presentation and quote made me want to inspire other people to never give up, never back down; because life is going to be a roller coaster whether we like it or not.
These two relate to my world because, I have always been myself and people struggle to be themselves and they come to me for guidance and I say it plain and simple...don't let them turn you into something. The presentation fits into my life because, there are somedays that I feel like dong something that no one else has tried to do before. Sure sometimes I fail but, I do have some moments where I feel like I am at the top of the world. Should we follow our dreams? Of course! We should follow our dreams because, they are the things that push us forward in life. They are the reason we get up in the morning, in order to fulfill our dreams, we must push forward as if we are the defenders in football. We need our dreams just as mush as we need the air that we breathe.
The Inspires Bicycles video relates to my little part of the world like it would to almost anyone else’s world. When you see someone accomplish something or figure out how to do something extremely difficult, what do you do? You smile and think, “Wow, that was a really cool thing to experience. I wish I could do something like that.” I think that when someone can do something with such passion and confidence, like the guy on the bike, it means they are on their way to finding out that they can only be themselves. This brings me to the Ralph Ellison quote. I agree with this quote. Everyone is looking to be someone; they just don’t know that they already are that person. Our accomplishments show us who we are. Everyone should definitely follow their dreams. Following our dreams, accomplishing our goals; they are all on the way to becoming ourselves. Our experiences make us who we are. Someone can change, but they are still that someone.
Although I will never be able to do incredible bike stunts and do not commonly question my existence both the “Inspired Bicycles presentation” and the Ralph Ellison’s quote from “invisible man” inspired me and provided me with a new perspective on life and the world. Ralph Ellison’s quote talks about being an individual and making decision on what you feel is just, in other words not being a follower. This relates to me and my life because in modern society there is a lot of pressure to fit in and follow trends and fads. It makes me want to make my own decisions without any guidance. The bicycles presentations showed that with practice, hard work, and dedication our dreams can be achieved. This relates to my life because it reminds me that all my hard work both in school and work is allowing me to do the things I love (ski, play soccer, skateboard, ect.) and that this love is what allows me to persevere through hard times and become a stronger person. Evan though I am not a professional at these things I still have to work hard in other ways to do the things I love. Both Ralph Ellison’s quote and the bicycle video have inspiring meanings that make me critique myself and dissect the way I live and interact with others.

The "Inspired bikes" video, and Ralph Ellsion's quote relate to the world through character. You can't let other people tell you you're passions, and have to be yourself. If you find what "being yourself" means to you, you'll find that you can accomplish things that seem impossible. In middle school, I struggled with academic success, but I later found out that school wasn't as difficult as I made it out to be. I cut out my bad habits and realized that my future depended on my good habits now, and that's who I was. When you finally find something that you enjoy, you realize that that's who you are, and how you live. It's important to follow dreams to an extent, but you have to be realistic about your goals and passions, while doing what you love at the same time. When I was in middle school, I realized that I didn't enjoy football like all of the other guys did, I really enjoyed music and art. It was the first time I came to the realization that I had a passion and I wanted to stick with it. As Ellison says "I am nobody but myself", meaning the passions he has are his own. In "Inspired Bikes", the bicyclist has an obvious passion for difficult, technical biking. He is defined by his amazing ability to a bike.
The inspired bicycles video showed me that people can do amazing things with proper motivation. This guy riding the bike found joy and excellence in riding a bike and became the best that he could be. In the video it shows him try and to do a trick and he did not quite get it but he never gave up and kept trying. This attitude is rare. You see people pursue individual goals and fall short more often than not. But the truly brave and truly passionate will not give up. Going through your life with positive energy is an attribute commended by all. Knowing that you will fall and you will fall short every now and then but overcoming those adversities and believing in yourself to strive for an ultimate goal is one life's most rewarding gifts. Industriousness and passion are the cornerstones to success, according to John Wooden. Anything you do, do with passion and through your passion hard work jumps in thus putting yourself in a position to succeed in all aspects of life. In high school we are faced with choices and in our choices we find who we truly are. We can choose to blow off school work and just coast, or we can rise above what is expected to exceed those expectations. We can be outstanding, it's not the easy road but it is the most rewarding. This relates to my sports world as well. I cannot control my size and speed. However I am in control of how hard I work. This video inspired me to the work the hardest, creating habits that can translate later in life. The quote inspired me to go out and live my own life and have my own experiences. No can tell me what to believe or how I should live my life, in the end I have to find that for myself.

How does this quote and the inspirational bicyclist video relate to my world? Well, as any inspirational text or quote, they prove to me once again that no matter how high I set my goals, there are attainable. As humans, we really do have the ability to do anything we set our minds to. Obviously, putting any inspirational video in front of myself or my classmates would probably elicit the same response, but that doesn't change the power of that response. At a personal level, this video relates to my goals to go to film school and produce Strike Magazine, (Something you'll see this Thursday) seemingly impossible tasks I have set upon myself to complete. I'd like to end with a quote I saw from one of my classmates while skimming these responses that I thought was absolutely brilliant: "The sky isn't the limit just because there is a foot print on the moon."
Both the Inspired Bicycles and the Ralph Ellison quote relate to my world greatly. The opening quote in “Inspired?”, “All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was,” I feel like is a constant struggle in my life. In the video Inspired Bicycles it shows you a great perspective on life. Most action videos like this, they show only the tricks. And when the audience watches the video, the usual reactions are, “Wow! I wish I could do something like that!” But what most of the viewers don’t realize are things like, how many years it probably took to perfect those tricks. In the video Inspired Bicycles I believe they portray the obstacles that life has to offer too. Throughout the film you see him fall, have to adjust and move things around. Which is totally relatable to the life we live in. I think both the Inspired Bicycles video and Ralph Ellison quote mesh together well as far as getting a certain message out. Basically, even though letting others answer the question “Who am I?” for you might be easier, it’s not worth your time. Sure, there’s going to be countless obstacles and bumps in the road you’ll have to overcome. But at the end of the day, it will leave you with more answers rather than questions. Because there’s no one more well suited in this world to tell you exactly ‘Who you are” better than yourself.
I think that what the quote is saying is that you have to find for yourself where you fit in to this world. The biker used his skills to create a beautifully crafted video. He used his talent to inspire others to pursue their dreams. Some of his tricks seem impossible but he found a way to do them nontheless, and we should do the same. We should go after what we are good at. Because its not who we are that defines us, its what we do TO define us. We should live knowing who we are and where we come from. This way of life is seen in the bicycle video. His talent is unique and personalized. His personality is so evident in what he does, and he has made sure to do it very well. However, putting things off and not attempting to acheive our goals is cowardly. We should try to acheive our dreams and even if we fail, at least we tried. Its better late then never. Memories define lives. Live good ones.

After watching the Inspired Bicycles presentation and reading the Ralph Ellison quote I am able to see that they are both very relatable to my life, as I’m sure they are to many others. Personally I found the Inspired Bicycles presentation a little more relevant to me. I believe that is because in anyone’s life there are so many goals we want to reach and so many things we want to accomplish before our time is up. In order to reach those things we must go through a lot of failure before we achieve success. This is why I found the Inspired Bicycles presentation so moving, because I can’t even imagine how long it took for him to get to where he is at and the countless times he had to fall and get right back up and try again. That is a skill that I believe everyone should have, we all need to be able to push through the tough in order to get to the greater parts of life and to meet our goals. Especially as teenagers, we need to develop this skill so when it comes to our academics we are able to keep going. There are going to be tests we fail, nights we don’t think we have it in us to do our homework and times where we just want to stop caring about all of it. But we can’t, because this is our future, this is what’s going to follow us for the rest of our lives. I personally have seen this video before, but I haven’t seen the quotation from Ralph Ellison and I think seeing the reading and comparing it to the Inspired Bicycles presentation just makes both of them much more relatable and empowering.

The inspiration bycicle presentation and the quote both play a big role in my life as far as inspiration. The inspiration video inspires me to get better at my sports, and try harder to accomplish goals everyday. In order to accomplish my goals I need to practice hard everyday and give it everything I have, nothing is impossible. This relates in a big way to my schooling also because school is a challenge and its not easy, its hard to maintain good grades. But if I practice everyday to make good grades and do homework I can achieve good grades. School plays a tremendous role in my future and you only have one shot at high school. Its not like biking where if you dont get it right you can keep going back to the same trick to master it. High school is a one shot deal if you plan on going to college you have mainly one shot to give it all your effort and make good grades so when your older you can be happy with your life. The bike inspiration video really inspired me to just go out and practice to master something like biking. Its not easy just to nail tricks it takes practice just like everything else in this world. Anyone can strive to achieve their goals and dreams but not everyone will succeed in achieving there goals. The point im trying to make is if you have a goal and you want to succeed in making that goal give it everything. Or else whats the point of trying?
These bicycles are doing what they love to do.When it comes to doing the thing that you love most you work harder, push yourself and others, and set goals and expectations for yourself to rise above and be better at it.If you take this inspiration and put it into your own life you can see that to accomplishments take hard work, these bicycles did not just get on a bike and start doing tricks it took time, passion, and dedication, so putting this into your own view and life can be a huge change for some people. Putting this into my own life is something that i strive to do everyday; work hard in class ,and work hard on the field. Most highschool student in this generation are under a emense amout of pressure with new things being taught every year keeping up with academics, sports, and your own social life, but with motivation all these goals can be accomplished.this made me look twice because it showed me that anything is possible in this world, and if you have the right attitude about it you can accomplish it.
