I THINK THAT IN THE STORY A WORM PATH, THE QUOTATION “THE PATH IS THE THING THAT MATTERS, MEANS THAT THAT PATH GUIDES US. THIS PATH DIRECTS IN THE PALCE WE NEED TO GO. I HAVE NOTICED THAT IN MY LIFE I HAD SOMEONE WHO I FOLLOWED. I LOOKED UP TO HIM. THIS IS THE KIND OF RELATIONSHIP WE HAVE WITH PATHS.

After reading Eura Welty's A Worn Path, I pondered the quote "The path is the thing that matters". I believe this quote means that it is the journey that is important, not the destination. For example when I go on vacation to New Jersey with my family, Welty would say that it is not the beach and warm weather that is important but the experiences that I have with my family members while i am there. I like this philosophy because I like the way it stresses the importance of relationships rather than material places and possessions.
In life there are many paths that we can take. They all lead to different journeys and conclusions but in the end, it is us that make the decision. Your life could pan out the way you want it, or it could just be a complete disappointment due to the fact that you may not have tried hard enough or just got unlucky. In life fate plays a big role on where are path will go but ninety percent of the time it is bas3d on are free will and passions.
Thinking Eudora Welty's on the quote “The path is the thing that matters”, it makes you think, what is important in life? This quote is basically telling me to enjoy my life and not get wrapped up in the future and where I’m going. It is saying to enjoy life now and what you are doing, because getting there is the best part. It reminds me of a family road trip. My dad would always say, “The journey beats the destination” and “Getting there is half the fun”. He is completely right. Getting there was the best part. We would always have so much fun on the ride, and that is what I remembered most about the trips. I was enjoying the journey, rather than thinking about the destination, just like Welty’s quote.
In the short story, "A Worn Path" by Eudora Welty, the quote, "the path is the thing that matters", can mean several different things. To me the quote kind of gives a message of hope and perseverance, and strength in the face of hardship. In the story racism plays a big part, even though Phoenix seems like she doesn't realize it, it takes a lot of perseverance to keep walking down the path. But in the end the path made her a stronger woman.
The quote “The path is the thing that matters” in the short story A Worn Path by Eudora Welty makes me think of the paths we all take. I think the quote is saying that we should not worry so much about our future and just live life now. It is the way you get to your final goal that really matters. Is a dream worth striving for if it takes no effort? It is the hard work we put into accomplishing our dreams that make us feel good when we reach them, not the fact that we accomplished them.
After thinking about the quote "The path is the thing that matters" I believe that Eudora Welty is right. The path we take in life ends up being what our life is, while or destination is just where we end up. Our journeys define us, not just where we end up. As I think about my life, I think about the little things, and the experiences that got me here. This is why I believe our path is important. I am not saying that our destination is not important as well. I believe everything you do in your life is important, but the path plays a big role.
From the short story “A Worn Path”, we learn that Pheonix is not concerned with the destination itself but the persistence of her journey. The quote “The path is the thing that matters” describes not only Pheonix’s endurance through her long trip, but also the hope she has in her grandson’s health. Along the path, she encounters people who are amazed by her determination. It is clearly a difficult journey for her, but nevertheless, she continues on. Similarly, when she asks for medicine, she is told, “it’s an obstinate case.” It is unlikely that Pheonix’s grandson can be cured, but she relentlessly does all that she can to care for him. Her immense hope, displayed through her journey, becomes more valueable than any medicine.
As our good friend Miley once stated, "It ain't about how fast you get there, it ain't about what's waiting on the other side, it's the climb." The journey builds character. The path takes us to where we need to be therefore where would we be without the path? The path entails struggle and hardship, the life changing kind. Our personal credos come from life experiences that define and shape us and make us the people we are. People set goals and aim for them, however, you don't become stronger by getting there, it's what it took to get there that matters. Life's a journey so hop on board and enjoy the ride. "Life moves pretty fast if you don't stop to look around once and awhile, you could miss it." (Ferris)
When taking a look at Eudora Welty's short story, "A Warn Path" I analysed the quote, "The path is the thing that matters."
I feel as if this quote could not be true enough. The journey is far better than the destination. The memories that last are the journey. In my own personal experience, I will always look at the days of CREATING Strike Magazine as the highlight of the publication, rather than the days distributing it. The memories I have with my friends and staff last forever.
Ralph Waldo Emerson says, "Life is a journey, not a destination." It's true. It is a journey. The path is far more interesting and has more stories to tell than the end of it.
I think that the quote, "The path is the thing that matters" is 100% correct. What we've done in our past determines who we are in the future. When you're on your death bed, there's no way to know what kind of person you are, its what you've done leading up to that moment that shows who you are and what you've become. I also believe that karma is a big factor in deciding who you are in the future.
I believe this quote to be true. Everyone has their own journey that is unique and of its own. The people that you meet and the experiences you have along the "path" is what truly matters. Without the journey the destination means nothing. We all will come to die in the end and if we don't have those special experiences and meet new people then we have not lived our lives. The whole point of living life is to be on this journey.
In Eudora Welty's short story A Worn Path I think that the premise of her story is meant to show us that the path is the thing that matters in life. We all have destinations that we are meant to get to in our lives but it is not about getting to the destination, it is about how we get to our destination. Our journey should be our paradise, not our ending.
Another quote by Eudora Welty used in HOHB is, "The end is nothing. The road is all." Your experiences and decisions along the way shape where you end up, not the other way around. The universe runs on cause and effect, or a riple theory. One choice can effect the rest of your life. In this way, the journey is more important than the destination.
After reading "A Worn Path" I have come to the conclusion that the path is the thing that matters most. The outcome/ end of the path is a great thing but how one got there is what's really beautiful. Seeing some one climb up the ladder of success is greater than watching someone born into success. Just look at Drake (Multi Millionaire Rapper) he wrote a song about how he "started from the bottom now we here" and made a lot of money. The path is greater than the outcome.
I think that her meaning of "The path is the thing that matters?" is when life gets tough your path can be altered, so if you keep your head straight and focus on the main goals in your life then the path will guide you to success as one can come from nothing to having everything the want or need.
I think the meaning behind "The path is what matters" is that even thought what you are working towards and what your goal is, is very important that how you get there is what counts. The obstacles you must overcome, the fears you must face, the people you have to prove wrong, those are all part of the path you're taking. I also think it's saying that sometimes, even after going through all of that you may not even teach the goal you were aiming for in the first place. And if by chance that happens, it's still okay, because everything else that happened and all the hard work you went through along the way still counts for something. In life you're hard work isn't always going to get you what you want, but the work will still count for something.
I do not think that the path is always the thing that matters. I do believe that it can be how someone gets somewhere that is more important than where that somewhere is, however that is not always the case. I have been to a lot of really cool places, and the places are a lot cooler than how I got there. I also think, though, that the places you go are part of the path.- Dana Mondragon
My though about, "the path is the thing that matters" in the story The Worn Path, is that your decisions matter. Everyday thoughts and choices that one makes are just as important as choosing a path because eventually that simple path can take you somewhere inspiring and hopeful or someplace lonely and treacherous. So the author is simply stating that any path big or small in its scale will eventually decide your fate making the path very important.
Eura Welty's quote,"The path is the thing that matters," brings to mind of how the happenings on the journey are the major things that really matter then our destination. On a path a person may have to endure trials in order to succeed in arriving at the destination. The destination or where someone goes does not really matter, what matters is how the person grew to arriving at the destination. The growth shows the progress that the person made which really shows on the journeys each person takes.
Reading Eura Welty's poem A Worn Path, I felt that this poem could not have been more true. The steps that we have to take to get to our destination make the destination its self worth it. If we could all have what we want when we want it, then we would never be able to enjoy it due to the lack of work and effort produced to earn it.
“The path is the thing that matters”, obviously the first interpretation of the quote is, “it’s not about destination, but the journey”. I think to a certain extent people are just waiting for that one moment in life to satisfy them. Whether it be their high school graduation, traveling to a foreign place, or getting married, life doesn’t stop or become more manageable. Life keeps proceeding. In The Great Gatsby, Gatsby is just waiting and waiting with high expectations for his love Daisy, to only be let down in the end result. He wasn’t living in the present, but always looking towards the future in a harmful way. My advice for anyone just trying to get through school, or any life situation would be just to enjoy today. Ultimately, the journey is your destination.
I think the the quote from Eudora Welty's short story " A Worn Path" that states "The path is the thing that matters?" is false I believe that the end is the most important thing only because if you truly want something you will reach it and the path is already implied in the end. Like in Socialist states and Communist states they don't have to work for anything its basically given to them. However in a Capitalistic society a person actually values the end because they already had the path which is automatically implied in the end.
I think that when on a journey it doesn't matter how long and how hard it is to get there as long as you enjoy how you get there. I would say that it is important what you do on the path. An example in my life would be that when taking classes in high school will it even be worth taking the class if it isn't needed in the future. For Welty her path was worth taking because she went to a hospital to get her son medicine so he can stay alive.
I think that the path is more important than the destination an more importantly, that the path is enjoyable. If your dream career is to be an aerospace engineer, and as long as it is a desire that you really want to obtain, then the journey towards that goal shouldn't matter how long it is because you enjoy learning about that subject. So I do think that the journey or path is more important than te destination
Eudora Welty’s story A Worn Path states that “the path is the thing that matters,” and I agree completely. In life the destination is not a resting point, it is the accomplishment, and it is not important. Without the journey, no one would be able to accomplish their goals. The destination of life is not to die, it is to live. Death however is the final destination for everyone’s lives. If we didn’t appreciate the path, we would get nothing out of our short existence. I am a competitive dancer and my favorite part is trying to learn something new. If I could skip my training and never have to try to get better, it would not be as much fun. Also if you didn’t have to work for a goal, when you accomplished it, it would not be as satisfying.
A Man Named Pearl made me question what my goals are in life, what do I love to do? What makes me happy? This film inspired me, it made me want to take the things I do on a regular basis and make it into something bigger. I've always been the kind of person who thought I'm no one special, I'm not going to do anything that changes lives. But after seeing this film about Pearl I realized that even the most unlikely people are capable of doing great things. Even the strangest things can develop in to something great. I think Pearl is an inspiration and I think he is changing people's lives every day. He is such a genuine person and I hope to be able to do the things he is doing some day in my life.
Eudora Weltys short story, "A Worn Path" uses the quote "the path is the thing that matters." I believe this to be true. The outcome is not the thing that matters, its how you get there. I believe that the path to doing whatever you are doing can make you a better person. Sometimes people go through rough times and in return they find something new or they become better people. The quote kind of goes with the saying its the journey that matters, it only maters if you had fun.
