My ideal American Dream is being able to peruse whatever I wish, without any negative input from others that may hurt or damage my pursuit. For foreigners, the American Dream is probably to start at the bottom of the food chain and work their way up, and make a name for themselves. America allows people from other countries to do this, because of our democratic government and our free market economy. But the American Dream from an immigrant perspective may be different from the perspective of someone who was born and raised in the United States. A lot of kids in America say they want to be a movie star, or a rock star, or a professional athlete. Their American Dream is to be big and famous and have everyone know their name and who they are. But for me, my American Dream is that of the 50’s. I just want to go to school, get a basic job to pay the bills and support a family, get married, have kids, and grow old and retire. I want to live a very basic life, but it is my American Dream.
My American Dream is to go to college, get a solid job, get married and start a family. I don't know yet what I want to do when I get to college but I do know I want to have a family. I can be whatever I want when I grow up and not many people have the great opportunities that we get as Americans. So I think we need to take advantage of the chances we get whether its going to a great school or having a good job. We need to be thankful for the fact that our American dreams can become a reality if you work hard enough. People would risk their lives and others to just have a chance at what we get living here in the U.S. My dream my not be complicated but it is my dream and no one can take that away.
My American dream is to live at home with both my parents, brother, and pets. Go to a great elementary school where I can meet some of my life long friends. Then middle school. Next high school. After high school, go to the college of my choice. Work hard enough to get a great job that pays a lot. Get married, start a family, travel, and be happy. The great thing about this life is that it is ideal. Most people in America have the opportunity to live like this. Many years of school, straight into jobs, then spend the rest of their lives with the ones they love. That is what is so special about living in America. It allows each and every one of us to live how we want and pursue our dreams.
When I think of my American dream the first thing that pops into my head is that I want to be an actress. The problem with that is that other people who are not American can have that dream. Since I found that out I thought harder about my American dream. What I came up with is that all I really want is to be happy. I want a family that will love me no matter what my job is. I thought I could go to any college and major in what ever I want but it won't be worth it if I am not happy and love life. Now I'm living life without worrying about what my future is going to be like.
My American Dream? Definitely took me a while and a lot of growing up to figure out. First off, once I graduate from college I don’t even want to be in America. I want to have a major in Hydrology and hopefully drill wells in Africa, or any other place that needs it. I’ve always had the desire to travel and experience as many things as possible. I think ultimately people want to be happy no matter what they’re doing as a profession when they grow up. Although problems such as reality, money, and bills come into a factor and people forget what they’re passionate about. That’s what my main goal is to achieve, to not fall into that trap and keep things in perspective.
Like many others, my ideal American dream is to have the ability to learn, work and prosper. I believe that we all desire the freedom to do so, not only in the United States, but also around the world. As an American, I know that I have the ability to pursue whatever life I want. This is an incredible freedom that is unfortunately not offered in every country. My cousin, who works in Saudi Arabia, told me about their culture and their inability to live an “American dream”. This makes me so thankful for the opportunities offered to me in the United States. Therefore, my American dream is to not only have the ability, but to take advantage of our great freedoms and the choices available to us as Americans.
My ideal American dream is drinking a coca cola with my friends on a mid summers afternoon at the pool after having just played a softball game where the juniors beat the seniors, represent. My ideal American dream lies not in the grand ideologies of equality and freedom of press but in the subtle nuances of life that make you truly appreciate how blessed we all are. The little things whether it be snow cone on a hot day or a hot chocolate on a cold day. Too often in life do we forget to be thankful for what we have and what truly matters. Sure, people in vision the mansion and the fastest sports car on the market but my American dream is having the people I love surround me. The grand illusions of the American dream are too stereotypical, I do not want to spend my time dreaming of things that will quite frankly never come true when I can be living and enjoying my time now. Too often in life do people stress about tomorrow and although being prepared for the future is essential we cannot forget to be in the moment. As our good friend Ferris said "life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop to look around, you could miss it." So to put it simply, my American dream is spitting seeds at a Rockies game with my best bud. In my opinion it’s the people in your life that make your dreams come true rather than the material possessions.
My American Dream is to pursue a form of music or journalism, to go to college to do so, and be able to graduate and find a job in my field. Having the American lifestyle allows me to be able to pursue that dream head on and achieve it. Ideally one day, I'd love to be able to start a family as well. The uniqueness of American lies in our abilities to take charge of our own destinies and purposes, to create our own American Dream. That is what I intend to do.
Similar to many others, my American dream is to have the ability to learn, work and create a good future for myself, and family. My American dream is going to school to get the education I need. Living in a house with both my parents, my brother, and my pets. Having a mom that makes our family’s dinner every night. Then when I’m ready to move out, they will all be there supporting me. Soon after, I would finish college, get a solid job, meet a great husband, and start a family. I would assume this is a pretty common dream. It’s the details that form an individual’s dream. In my case I want to move out of Colorado, probably close to a beach. Go to college in a place that is undecided at the moment. Get a job in the medical field. Live in a house similar to the one I grew up in, but with my own family. The main point of having an American dream is to set a goal to love the life you will live.
My ideal American dream is to be happy with the live I live. I want to graduate, go to college, find a job I love going to everyday and get married, have kids and watch them grow up. It sounds like nothing special, but when you think about how many people live their lives and are unhappy with those things, I dont thing this will always be an easy dream to have and strive for. I know somedays I'm going to want to just throw it all away and some days are going to be amazing. I just have to get past those not so great days to be able to be content with myself and my life. My dream isn't to have a perfect life, it's to have a happy life.
My ideal American Dream is to get away from surviving and begin to truly live. I believe that this has been the basis of the American Dream ever sense the idea of the American Dream was conceived. Originally the Dream was so immigrants would leave their homelands and come to the United States and pursue this Dream. This clearly follows my ideal Dream because they are getting away with surviving like they have been use to and begin to thrive and truly live.
My American Dream is escaping reality for awhile and escape the surviving and constant grind. To be in a position where there is nothing to worry about and you can do anything you want. TO travel the world and experiences what it has to offer.
My American dream is being able to get the education I want and need to make a life for myself with the job I choose. In America we are given so many opportunities and freedoms that allow everyone equal opportunity to execute the life they want to have. Other countries are not this fortunate and it is a dream itself to live in a place where I am able to accomplish anything I can dream of. Many people from other countries move to the United States legally and illegally not to cheat our system, but to make a life for themselves that their families can be proud of. Americans don't realize this but it is a dream of its own being able to walk down the street and not fear what will happen. I can't imagine not being able to peruse what I love. It really is my American dream to go to college and take advantage of the opportunities that so many other people are unable to have.
Although there are many different ideas of an American dream, my American dream is to be the best I can be. I can do this because, as an American, I have the freedom to chose how to live my life how I want. How I want to live my life is happily and with the people I love always around me. To start my American dream, I will hopefully be able to go to the college of my choice and experience a whole different world. After finding my passion, I hope to be succeful in my job, meanwhile having a family there to support me. This is what my ideal American dream is.
An American Dream? We already have many freedoms. What more is there to ask? That our government didn't cause so much hate and anger in our society. I know that Politics suck and they can all go die in a hole for all I care but, without them, we would be under the rule of a monarch or a dictator or someone of that manor. Now I'm not going to quote "Mean Girls" and say, "I wish we could all get along like we used to in middle school... I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy.."But, let's face the facts, we need a better way of handling things. So, Mr. Trotter, you ask what is my American dream? Mine, is for a hope that Politics didn't suck so much.
My ideal American dream is to go to college, get a degree in nursing and find work immediately although that isn't likely or realistic, but hey this is a dream after all! While in college I hope to find the man I'm going to marry. After college we will get married and I would like to have about 4 children. When I'm older I still hope to be as close to my parents and family as I am now. My dream isn't to travel or do whatever I want just because I can. I just want a prosperous life with the man I love, our children and family. It would be ideal if we stilled lived in Colorado too!
Personally, my ideal American dream is to find a passion, succeed in it, and then share it with someone. But I will do this while making sure I’m living in the moment at the same time. Although I haven't completely mapped out my future yet, I know I'm capable of finding a balance between planning for my future, and having spontaneity to live for the moment. I think it's important to make sure you have a solid path to success in the future, while at the same time enjoying all of the perfect little unplanned moments that make life special. After all, we're granted the freedoms to do so.
When I think about my American dream the word that comes to my mind is success. In America success is portrayed as going to college, get a steady job, getting married, having kids, and being able to support yourself and family while still having some money left for personal indulgence. Although some of my ideas of what success may be different from other Americans, it is clear to me that the average American thrives and is motivated to fulfill his or her own expectation of success. I home one day I can meet my own standards of success and live what I consider the American dream.
My ideal American dream is to be able to support myself without my parents help. I also wish to go to college for business or engineering. When im a lot older I hope to be married and own a house. I also dream to have a job that pays well. Sometime in the future I hope to have a kid or two. Even though my "American dream" is very much about objects, I feel I will be satisfied if I just have my family with me.
My ideal American dream is to make an impact on people so that they will be able to better themselves. Along the way college, a job, and a family would be great too, but I want to make such an impact that people in the future will be one step closer to knowing peace and happiness in the world. Who knows, maybe my job will be the finding the cure to cancer so that our loved ones don't die so soon, maybe in college I will bring new ideas that could change the way we see the world and then apply them once I graduate. I will not know the answer until I experience the future though, but I do know what I dream it to be like. When people ask who I was after I have passed on I want people to be able to turn around and say "she changed the way I see the world, she impacted lives for the better, she lived the American dream."
My American dream is to be successful with a big family that I can support. I want a good collage education in architecture. From there I want to be able to find a good job that supports my degree. With a steady income I want to purchase a nice house that I can more than afford. And every year for vacation I want to be able to go anywhere in the world for vacation weather its visiting family or escaping the weather. This is my American dream to be very successful but still be practical at the same time.
My American Dream is to do my dream job and receive a good education in order to pursue my dream. I love working with little children and learning from what they do. I enjoy watching them do what they wish to do and see it done. I enjoy listening to what a child does and says. It is so awesome to watch a child grow and hear what they wish to happen. I love to see my little sisters willing to help out without being asked. It is such a blessing to have children in our midst because they are such wonderful examples to us. For my dream job I hope to work with children so I can grow and learn from what they do. I hope someday to find a job that is worthwhile for a child and me.
My American Dream is to be able to do what ever I want to do in life without people putting me down and getting in my way. When people think of the American Dream, they think of having a good job, living in a nice house, and having a happy family. The American Dream is pursuing what you want to do, being what you want to be, and living how you want to live, without anyone or anything standing in your way.
The American dream is shaped by the ideals of the founding fathers, like Benjamin Franklin’s pursuit of moral perfection, but is also corrupted by society. By society, I am referring to the standards and expectations that exist in our world, and are portrayed through the media. We are expected to look “perfect” physically, be the smartest and get into the best college, have a successful career, get married, have two perfect children, and the chain starts all over again with them. This appears to be the American Dream in today’s society, but my ideal American Dream differs from this a bit -- it is a dream where each individual's voice which shouts a hundred times louder than the loud voices of society and and their own path that is only shaped by them, if everybody followed their dreams and career path regardless of the salary and what others might think.
My American dream is to be able to get married, have a family and have a good education that will eventually lead to getting a job that I enjoy doing; my dream job. I have many interests and so it makes deciding what I want to pursue as a career difficult. I know that whatever I end up doing, it will be involving my interests. I want to travel the world and be able to experience what the world has to offer. My ideal American dream is to live my life to the fullest and to pursue my dreams.
My American dream. Its a biger question and definatley a broader one. But im only 17 years old so im not 100% sure of what I want yet. But I have a vague idea. Out of highschool I want to go in to NROTC and become an officer for the United States Navy. After that I plan on enlisting into Navy SEAL's and seeing if I have what it takes after all these years of training. And if that doesnt workout I want to become a therapist. A Ohysical therapist or a mental one, I just like helping people really. I want to have a wife, kids, a family. Maybe a dog. Or an eagle. Eagles are cool.
MY AMERICAN DREAM IS TO DO SOMETHING THAT I LOVE. I DONT WANT TO HAVE A JOB THAT I HATE GOING TO EVERY DAY. I WANT TO HAVE A JOB THAT IM EXITED TO GO TO IN THE MORNING AND WORKING LATE BECAUSE I WANT TO GET SOMETHING DONE. I DONT WANT THERE TO BE STRESS IN MY LIFE. I HUST WANT TO BE HAPPY. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT I MAKE WONT MATTER AS LONG AS I MAKE ENOUGH TO LIVE. TO MARK SOME STUFF OFF OF MY BUCKET LIST AND THAN I WILL BE GOOD. AS LONG AS I DO SOME OF THE THINGS THAT IV WANTED TO DO SINCE I WAS A KID THAT I WILL BE HAPPY. THAT IS MY AMERICAN DREAM.
Many have their opinion of what their ideal American dream is. My Amnerican dream is to go off to a big college where I can play baseball and get a good degree. I hope to get married and have kids in the future, and to have a successfull job where I can have free time to go on vacations, and spend time with good friedns. I also hope that I will still be in the physical condition I'm in now so I can continue to play sports and do things like go skiing. MAny things in my life now I want o have when I'm older like baseball and big mountains to be my playground.
The American dream is to go through life with joy and without struggle or hardship. Most people believe that the American dream is about wealth. But, I know plenty of people who are in fact living the American Dream that are not the wealthiest. Often money brings more problems then it solves. That's something we should all ponder.
