You can find evidence of Puritanical thinking and rational ideology. The evidence is shown around the world. There is evidence shown in and around church areas with hymns, bibles, and other churchy things. Most people are familiar with the Bible and Christ saving them. I think these ideas show a purpose in a person’s life so that they have a reason to live. Some churches are different then others are and some people believe that their church is the right church. I don’t think that people should argue which church is the right church, but it seems to come from the Puritans down to us. The ideas show how strong and persuasive writing can be to others. It helps build my confidence that I can be persuasive in writing, and I can share strong information to back up my writing. The ideas also show how powerful beliefs can be to people if they hold on to their beliefs. They do connect with my worldview. The world seems to hold to beliefs of who a person should be and live in this life. Some believe in the world’s point of view while others hold on to their beliefs. Those who hold on to their beliefs show how different they are and how strong they can be against their enemy.

Finding Puritanical thinking in todays world is not hard to do. Puritanical thinking can be in almost every subject. People all over the world have beliefs that they feel strongly for. These beliefs can be related to Church related beliefs or governmental related beliefs, puritanical thinking is found everywhere. I believe these ideas can have both a positive and negative effect on the world. The puritans did not go about their beliefs and thinking in the best way. Puritans believed that only some people were good and the rest were bad. Thinking like this can go from an innocent belief to a whole new level of thinking. Believeing in something is what brings hope into this world, that is why it is important that everyone should have the right to believe whatever they want to. Overall, I think Puritanical thinking can either have a good impact on life or a negative imopact, but the positive puritanical thinking should continue.

I think you can find puritanical thinking in several places in today’s world. I think I can relate to this belief system in certain aspects. Puritanical beliefs are pretty similar to Christianity in many ways. A similarity is going straight to God not through priest which I believe in, also people were not supposed to sin, but would sin anyway. They were required to forgive, but evil was ever present. They were supposed to seek salvation, but were helpless against evil. All of these things relate to the Bible and to our world today in my opinion. I think the Puritanical beliefs fit my worldview pretty closely. It can have a negative view though. If people only believed that puritans were the only good people in the world and everyone else was evil then, our world would be a mess. I think having an even balance of this belief and a realistic perspective of the world is the best way to see things.

Puritanical thinking and Rationalist ideology are very present in today’s society. Puritanical thinking is most present in the Middle East. Wars have broken out between the people and the government because of strong religious beliefs. In churches puritanical thinking still exists through prayer and song. Rationalist ideology is also very present in situations involving Puritanical thinking. Rationalist ideology is when people explain why they are doing something in a way that uses self-perceived logic but not always factual logic. These two thought processes go hand in hand. I believe that most people use Puritanical thinking and Rationalist ideology to justify or explain what they cannot explain. In everyone’s life, whether religious or not both of these logics are used. I tend to use more rationalist ideology rather than puritanical thinking because of how I was raised. This connects to my worldview by showing different cultures. In the United States a law exists to separate church and state so that Puritanical thinking cannot affect the government. In other cultures, including England, the church and country are both ruled by the queen. As much as I tend to lean toward Rationalist ideology, I believe that both are acceptable ways to think because it is what you believe in, and how you live your life.

Puritanical thinking and Rationalist ideology can easily be seen in today’s modern world. Puritanical thinking can be seen in places such as the Middle East. The people in the Middle East follow their religion to the dot. One step out of line and you could be punished brutally or even put to death. These people take their religion so seriously that they are considered extremists. Rationalist ideology can be seen everywhere, just like Puritanical thinking. Rationalists are people who accept reason as the supreme authority. They will accept something, even if it is not logically correct. Rationalists and Puritanical thinkers are one in the same. They will both follow of their religion/morals/reason even if is extreme or not logically correct. I think both of these ideas are acceptable to a certain degree. Extreme Puritanical thinkers (like the Muslim extremists) have to be controlled and brought back to reality because they can’t let their faith get in the way of what’s the truth. Both of these ideas impact me because I am a person that bases everything on logic. But I was also raised to be a religious person. I was brought up in a Catholic family and I was taught that Jesus and God were the reason for everything. I like to challenge that because I believe in the evolution of man. These are two conflicting ideas that both affect my life. In general, these are ideas are all over the world and connect worldwide.

I think puritanical thinking and rational ideology are commonly used in some peoples life everyday. Puritanical thinking is practicing or affecting strict religious or moral behavior. Puritanical thinking is probably the more common between the two, you see puritanical thinking every sunday mostly at churches. You have preachers who try to get you into a group of beliefs and thoughts of others that can impact your life. Practicing to act more professional when it comes to christ, a behavior that not only affects you but affects others you see it everyday. I think rational ideology and puritanical thinking are very similar in lots of ways. Rational ideology is when people explain why they are doing something but with self judgements not always factual logic. I think that puritanical thinking probably impacts me the most because i'm practicing on being a better person and be more religious. I think these two concepts connect with my worldview tremendously, simply because I personally use both of them just about everyday. Example going to church every sunday and practicing on becoming a more religious and better person to surprise others. At the end of the day whether you notice it or not, everybody uses puritanical thinking and rationalist ideology in their everyday lives.

I think that there are a lot of Puritanical thinking that goes on almost every day. Puritanical thinking is in almost everything that is religious because everyone has their own opion towards what they believe. It doens't bother me that people think that way but I do think that people do impact me about the ideas. They aren't so much as a big impact but I think that they are still there in my life. Puritanical thinking does somewhat connect with my world view only becuase what I believe is so seperate then some other people's views. I think that rationalist ideology is envolved in our world. I say this because people use their resions to describe wjy they did what they did. I tjink it does impact me because people all around me use it to go on about their days. I feel like I sometimes use it to help me explain ehy i did or didn't do something when it should have been done.

Puritanical thinking and rational ideology is something that almost shapes our society. We see so many churches and religions, it's part of our culture. We study religion in school. I like the fact that many people can find something they believe and worship it is amazing. Many times I find my friends becoming more hopeful and happier when they become part of a religion. I believe religion is a way to bring people and families together. It helps me believe in something greater than humans, that there's always someone there for me. They do connect with my worldview by giving me an idea of how others might be worse off than I am. It helps people believe in something and work for better. When you have something to believe in, it helps change your life and become more positive. I believe having a belief is an important thing for our society to be more positive.

Puritanical thinking and Rationalist ideology are both very evident in today's world. Religion plays an important role. It is clearly seen in politics across the world and will often effect the decisions of many people. However, Rationalist ideology is constantly challenging faith-based ideas. The two conflicting ideas continuously debate over beliefs. This is clearly seen in many political issues. For example, voters that make decisions based on their faith and specific beliefs, tend to vote differently from those with a more rationalistic ideology. Specifically, subjects such as abortion or same-sex marriage, have become extremely controversial between religious and non-religious people. Though our government is based on separation of church and state, many voters use their religion to guide their decisions.

You can find evidence of Puritanical thinking and Rationalist ideology in our world currently. There are many different countries with vast religions that believe many things. Many beliefs are basically the same with a few variations of what they believe is the truth. Some examples of Puritanical thinking include, Lutheran, Evangelical, Puritan, Baptist, etc. An example of rationalist ideology would be atheism and/or non religious people. I connect with Puritanical thinking because I am a Christian and believe in God, so opposite of rationalism, which believes in acting upon knowledge rather than religion. I believe that he died for me, and there was nothing I did to deserve it, but he did it out of grace and love. There is a forever ongoing clash against people who are religious, and those who aren't. It is important to hold on to what you believe and don't be afraid of what others think. Proclaiming what you believe and living by it is what shapes our world.

There is evidence everywhere in today’s world about puritanical beliefs, and rationalist ideology. For instance through astronomy and earth’s position in the atmosphere we know that the earth rotates around the sun, and that’s rationalist ideology. Religion also plays a role in puritanical beliefs because there is no proof in a god or the human soul but its belief that makes us know. I think these are both very important ideas because through trial and error we can know things, and with puritanical beliefs we can work for something greater and be the best we can be. Every day I work hard in baseball so that I can be the best I can be through my puritanical belief of practice makes perfect. Also When mountain biking, I can learn to better ride downhill by adjusting my stance after failing with trial and error, or better, rationalist ideology.

The bible shows us puritanical thinking. In the bible there is a judgement day and when it comes only the true believers will be allowed to proceed to Heaven the non believers are condemned to hell. In Nazi Germany they believed that only the Aryan race were worthy of living and sought out to destroy the Jewish people. These leave blaring and major legacies that still exist in our society. People haven't changed the world has. Racism and segregation are all puritanical ideas, even sexism they are all rooted in a belief that one race, gender, age, or belief is better than another. An ideal world is one without any of these ideologies. Our history impacted us and changed what is socially acceptable. Now we have to monitor our voices because governments tell us what is politically correct and what is not. People are persecuted for what they say if it is thought to be insensitive. We haven't changed the way we think throughout history we have only changed what we share. So is puritanical thinking evident in today's world? Yes: religions, governments, and especially in the human mind, although that is harder to prove. People generally tend to be judgmental, but whether or not they voice it, is another matter.

Don't cheat, don't steal, listen to authority. Don't kill, don't hurt, be generous. Why do we do what we do? Puritanical thinkers would argue that we do what god tells us to do, we follow the bible. That is the right way. This is why I have always struggled with going to church -- I know right from wrong regardless of how many times a day I open the Bible or pray, so I don't feel a necessity to attribute my that to a church and give them all the credit. Does that mean I believe completely in rationalist ideology? I may like to think so, but as a kid if I had never learned from church, my mom, or elsewhere that stealing was wrong, I might have done it again and again not knowing that I was even doing anything wrong. In the end, I feel the question is as to if the chicken or egg came first; was Jesus simply the first rationalist , or was he truly guided by a higher power? In today's world we are bombarded by the ideas of a conglomeration of religions. Presidential candidates, missionaries at our doors. I believe that it's a good thing they are out there -- religious or not, the ideas they have are things we should all follow, whether we follow the teachings in the Bible or come to find what is right and wrong some other way, both ideologies are ultimately fighting the same battles.

In the world, there are many different religions/ beliefs. Puritanical thinking has been going on for a very long time. Every person has something that they strongly believe in, and is important to them. Most often its regarding religion. Regarding God and respecting him. Some people change who they are for these beliefs, what they do, who they talk to, etc. Religion is very powerful in many places, and to many different people. Puritanical thinking could involve strict parents because they need their child/children to respect their morals. For example, going to church, praying at the table before dinner are all related to puritanical beliefs. They are strict rules that need to be followed. This kind of thinking gets more and more complex with every generation to come, and people will always believe about something strongly.

Puritanical thinking and Rationalist ideology are commonly seen throughout today's world. These beliefs are seen in church, politics and our everyday lives. I think that these ideas are uplifting to most people. These ideas give people the faith in themselves that they are meant to do something honorable in their life and that is why they are on this planet. I believe that everyone is here for a reason and that if we believe in ourselves and/or a higher power that we give hope to the rest of the world. Puritans did believe that only some people were good and the rest were bad. I believe that there is good in every single person in this world, and our hope and faith in our beliefs help us all find the good in ourselves and each other.

Puritanical thinking and Rationalist ideology is extremely easy to find in today’s world. You can find Puritanical thinking in the way people act and react to certain situations. There could be a character in a book that has a very Puritan point of view. Rationalist ideology is everywhere today. People try to explain why or how things happen. They try to come up with an idea that describes what is going on in the world. I think that Puritans have a very strict idea about how people should act, dress and what they should believe. I think that people should be able to do what they want (within reason). I also think that there are just some things that cannot be explained. Sometimes, things happen and no one knows why or how. Some people call these things “miracles” and others call them “undiscovered science.” I prefer to stick with “miracle.”

Both are present in todays world, but puritanical is most seen across the world where religion is a big deal in that society. For example wars in the middle east heve broken out do to the country being seperated in to groups of differnet beliefs.Rational ideology is seen in this because like in the example on group of a differnet religion believes that that is the best way of basing the government or control of the country on , so it show s of their own thoughts are being used to influence.

Puritanical thinking in today's world is massively prevalent in politics, and more so in our Presidential Race this year. I believe that each candidate uses Christianity, or in Mitt Romney's case, Mormonism, as a way to branch out to the public as moral and just individuals, since that's how society instinctively views religious individuals. I think that we also see rationalistic viewpoints in our society in terms of politics, science, and almost any major or controversial subject. Different parties will rationalize different viewpoints based on facts they look to.
Personally, from my world view, I have no issue with either form of thinking, but I do believe that puritanical thinking can easily become offensive to those who don't think that way, sparking unnecessary debate.

Puritanical thinking is present in today's world in many ways. Every person has their own beliefs and those beliefs influence thier actions. All over the world, religion has caused people to act irrationally. Many times have wars broken out because people have different religious views. Everyday people make choices based on their religious beliefs. Puritanical thinking has torn people apart because everyone has a different view on life and not everyone is going to believe the same thing. The ideas of puritanical thinking show us that it is important to act rationally we have opposing views with other people, but we shouldn't let that dictate how we view the world.

Puritanical ideas are what many people live in and can be found anywhere. Various religions can be seen as puritanical but I could say that my religion is puritanical. Various forms of Christianity exist in this world some more radical than others. My religion focuses on every word the Bible says. We believe in the distinction of a man and women along with the representation of true beauty. Because of that guys have short hair and girls don’t cut their hair, guys wear pants and girls wear skirts, neither side wears make up either. This is not just because our religion says that we have to, but rather because we want to live a life that God finds pleasing. If a girl falls and cuts her hair we won’t judge. People learn guilt on their own but we need to be their friends no matter what. If you go to my Pentecostal church you find a sanctuary full of sinners. Every Sunday you will see visitors that experience our loud crazy music that want to join or sit back and listen. We accept that we are not perfect but try our best through physical and mental representations. Sinning is going to happen no matter what. This is a very affective form of living for God. This is how a view and live in my world.

There are many examples of Puritanical thinking and Rational ideology throughout the world and the United States. The most common are example that we all know is the "IN GOD WE TRUST" on all United States currency. Another is the "Under God" saying in the United States Pledge of Allegiance. I feel all these examples of Puritanical thinking throughout the United States is outdated and does not follow the First Amendment at all. The Freedom of religion part is spit at by these little Puritanical examples. One Religion may believe these examples are good, but others do not think these are good. A good example of this is in the Hindu religion. According to our First Amendment their beliefs should be treated equal as those of a Christian, but with the "IN GOD WE TRUST" it’s saying that this country thinks that the monotheistic god is more important than the Hindu polytheistic gods. I feel these Puritanical examples in our everyday world affect me in a huge way. It feels like to me that we should all this certain religion and if you don’t follow this religion then you are shunned and are not part of the group. Another way Puritanical thinking
affects me is that people always push it on other people even if its just little things.

I think that there is still much evidence of puritanical thinking in our world. There is a general idea with almost everyone that there is some form of God out there, and many do something about it. However, the general public doesnt live like their hanging from a spiders thread over hell. Yet there are still some ideas and traditions that live on. People do amazing things simply because they beleive its what they must do. Taliban and radical terrorist are willing to blow them and many others sky high because in their mind it is right and pure, just as the buddhist may meditate for hours for the same reason. I think that in every persons mind, there is some form of purtanical thinking of belief, however little it may show up in thier daily lives. Franklin was well aware of the thoughts and ideas of Edward, but did not live the same way. His type of purtanical thinking was reason and goodness, and so I think it is in some form with us all.

There is Puritanical thinking into today's world. Like the Puritans believed that government should be separate from religion, today we have the separation of religion and state. There are also churches of all beliefs today that believe that Jesus came to save them and religions who read the Bible. I do not believe in most of the things the Puritans believed. I do not think only certain people are chosen to go to Heaven or that the people who get to Heaven all become saints. It is interesting to learn about and see what others believe and how they compare to what I believe. The Puritan worldview does not connect to my worldview. The world can have some very distorted views on many things and I do not agree with them. It is good to hold onto your beliefs and know how to support them.

You can find evidence of Puritanical beliefs that can most closely related to Christianity in my opinion. The idea behind not having to go through someone else to get to God and the fact that humanity is a flawed race that will sin, even though we are not supposed to. These beliefs are similar to my own. But some people may view Puritanical beliefs as a bad thing, with the Puritans being the good people and everyone else is pretty much screwed. But I also am open to some rational ideology as well. Who knows if God used the Big Bang to create the universe or evolution to create man. The people that are all the way Puritanical and the people that are all the way rationalistic are the ones that cause conflict. I think that there should be a healthy balance between the two, and that people shouldn't go around hating each other because they think differently. Everyone has their own beliefs and opinions. This world would be a lot worse if no one tried to maintain this balance and everything was lopsided.

Simply because the world has so many people, puritanical thinking is easy to come across. Organizations such as the American Nazi Party and the Westboro Baptists are good examples of people with puritanical ideology, and they're known for being extremely hateful. I don't think that this ideology is necessarily bad, but it's definitely for the people that choose to be religious and worship from a very dark perspective. It's a way to scare people in to not doing bad, as opposed to normal worship, that provides people enlightenment for doing good. I think that it's not bad to have puritanical ideology, as long as you don't take it too far. Eventually hatred can develop from such thinking, which is best to avoid. I tend to avoid these beliefs, just because I don't think anything good comes from such thinking.

Rational ideology and Puritanical thinking are constantly surrounding the society we live in. Between Puritanical and Rational, I do believe Puritanical thinking is more common between the two. You can encounter Puritanical ideas with churches, bibles, and other religious organizations. An example of Rationalist ideology would be atheists/non-religious individuals. I think it overall comes down to science and religion and two types of people. The people who need to see to believe, and people who just live off of pure faith. Overall, both parties have an enamoring sense of how and why they’re right. For me personally, puritanical thinking has more of a hold on me.

negative beliefs in these ideas. It makes feel more confident

belief is having an even balance towards it.

Puritanical thinking and Rationalist ideology is extremely easy to find in today’s world. You can find Puritanical thinking in the different way people approach problems. Although they may not be as extreme as they were during the Salem witch tryals, it is still a very alive religion. Puritans believed that only certain people were "worthy" of heaven and eternal life through christ, I believe puritanical thinking can have supportive qualities but also very negative long term affects. I feel they create permanent solutions to temporary problems. But at the same time I don't believe in arguing about religion, there is never an easy win. These ideas show how persuasive ideas and writing can be to other people and how american literature affects our lives today.
