The film "Hands on a Hard Body Truck" is a story about a simple contest that reveals surprisingly complex ideas regarding perseverance and the American Dream. The film portrays the American Dream as one that is about competition and glory, going "all out" in your endeavors. That of which in this movie includes keeping your hands on a truck for an extremely long period of time. We see a variety of different walks of life which makes the film interesting and entertaining. It shows that all people are striving to achieve their own personal American Dream. The American Dream is not the same for every person, rather it changes based on the individual's characteristics and dreams. They relate however in the fact that they all have goals that they want to achieve. In this particular case, every contestant wishes to win the truck. The American Dream is about striving towards goals or things and ideas beyond what we already have.
This film relates to the literature that we have read this semester because it brings light to certain aspects of the American culture. Specifically it relates to Kate Chopin's work because the people in the film wish to win the truck so that they can escape certain aspects of their daily lives. For example one may wish to win the truck solely for the money. Kate Chopin also desired to escape the daily routine of her life. This is how the film and the literature we have studied relate.
The Hands on a Hard Body Truck show how the American Dream is made up of hard work and believing in your dreams. The people in the film had to stay motivated in order for them to keep their hands on the truck like people in America in order to make money. The American Dream means whatever it takes for you to be a success in our country and that is what the people in this film wanted. This relates to what we have studied so far this semester because it shows how money or something we desire can change how we act. Making lots of money can be considered someones American Dream. Other people have goals to win something like the people in the film. The Hands on a Hard Body truck definitely relate to the American Dream and the things that keep people motivated.
The film, "Hands on a Hard Body Truck", is about people who enter a contest to see who can win a truck by keeping their hands on it for the longest amount of time. This relates to the American Dream because it shows us values that certain people have. The people in this contest all share the same values by living in the same area where a truck is an important part of life. Although some people need the truck and others plan on selling it, they are all putting themselves through extreme measures for a truck. This film relates to the American Dream because it shows us how hard people will work for just for an item that will make their lives easier.
The film relates to our studied literature so far in this semester because it all relates to the American Dream. There have been many different types of American Dreams depending on where they live and what their values are. For example, in A Pair of Silk Stockings by Kate Chopin, her American Dream is to live simply and luxuriously somewhat like the film when the people compete for the truck.
"Hands on a Hard Body Truck" relates to the idea of the American Dream because it proves that you can do anything you want to if you set your mind to it. The American Dream entails so many different opportunities and freedoms that you can take advantage of to better your lifestyle and well being. The dream isn't really a dream its a special reality that you can take advantage of. The contestants in the competition push their physical and mental beings to the limits to get what they want and in the end the possibilities are endless of what they do with the car and they can use it how they choose. The same is with the American Dream. Once you reach success, the possibilities are endless with the freedoms you have. If you are motivated and you put your heart into it, anything is possible
After watching "Hands on a Hard Body Truck" I have realized that everybody is different. Everyone has different opinions and want to achieve different goals. I wouldn't be interested in this challenge, but many other people are. I just know I wouldn't be able to last as long as some of the other people. I wouldn't have the same motivation. That is what makes America great. Everyone has different dreams. No ones dream is wrong. This idea is the same as what we have been studying the whole year.
The documentary "Hands on a Hard Body Truck" is a strange story about many different contestants who left their hand on the truck, so that they could win the truck. This competition may seem easy, but it is not because it strained the contestants physical, mental, and emotional health. This relates to the the American Dream because the American Dream is about hard work and commitment. The contestants had to stay motivated and focused on keeping their hands on the truck, this relates to other Americans because they have to be driven and focused to get what they want. Although many people wanted to quit and drop out of the competition because they were tired, in pain, and had been pushed too far, they did not. This all relates because you have to work hard to get what you want and it's never easy but the feeling of success is unbeatable.
The film "Hands on a Hard Body Truck" enlightens the audience with aspects of the American Dream. We, as a country, have gone through tremendous effort and suffering in order to get to a goal or achievement. It can take hard perseverance and determination to get to where you want to go. In this film, every contestant wants to win the truck, and is willing to wait days upon days to do so. This connects to the literature of Zora Neale Hurston, because each of us is an individual (a paper bag) filled with goals and desires, and are willing to go to great lengths to fulfill these aspirations.
This contest shows just how strong the American Dream can be, and just of much this dream can drive people to accomplish great task. This contest doesn't necessarily show people putting this drive to good use, after all, they are only fighting to win a truck, but it shows that people can do great things if they try. This contest really strains peoples mentality, and yet through it all, it shows how people can get along even when they are essentially fighting against each other. It shows how when times are tough, people naturally band together. My one question is, for anyone other than the man who won, was the contest at all beneficial? Did they really learn more about human nature and get to know their fellow contestants?
The "Hands on a Hard Body Truck" documentary show how in some communities material items are still more important to people than taking care of themselves. It is shown how a lot of people American Dreams revolve around having the newest things, rather than working on being better people or helping the community/environment. This is basically as close to an "All-American" film you can get and it's a perfect example of materialism and how people really feel like they need these items to be happy or to feel complete.
This film relate to the literature we have studied in class because it shows small clips of people lives in America and what people strive for, even if it may be irrelevant to us in Centennial, Colorado.
After watching the Hands on a Hard body Contest I observed a few things. First, I observed that people were willing to devote a lot of their time and strength to the possibility of achieving their American dream. When the contestants first learned that they were going to be able to compete to win the car, they were all ecstatic and were willing to devote all of their energy and strength to their dream. Second, I observed that the mind was the driving force behind peoples success. When people where able to overcome their feet hurting and there back being sore, they where able to make it much further than the other contestants. With both these observations I concluded that the thought of the American dream was powerful enough the dramatically change peoples behavior and give them a massive sense of hope.
I believe that the H.O.A.H.B.T is a perfect combination of the optimism of the american dream and the understanding of what it offers. In the film, we see that there is such a diverse culture in the United States and the drive that so many of us have. Our values are so different and yet we strive together. This film also illustrates that who you are, or where your from dosent really affect anything in our nation. We see so many people from such diverse backgrounds, are thrust together and they not only survive, but they learn to accept each other and thrive as a group. Even with the opponents of this group, they find a friendship in understanding at that moment what exactly everyone else has experienced.
The Hands On A Hard Body Truck Is a simple contest held in the south somewhere. This simple contest shows a of what the "American Dream" is. A lot of the people in the movie had different ideas of what they wanted to do with the truck. Also, they all thought that they were gonna win. when in reality only one can. This is like the american dream because everyone thinks that they will be the one that gets rich when in reality only a couple can get rich.
The film "Hands on a Body Truck" is a story about a contest that will either make you win or lose the american dream. The film shows the American Dream as a hit and run. You can either hit it or get it. The people in the film can wither hit it or run away from it. That's what the American Dream is- success. This relates to what we have studied so far because it shows how sometimes life is a hit or run. Especially from our history. How life can change our American Dream. The film relates to the American Dream, and how it's a hit and run.
Hands on a Hard Body truck is a documentary that depicts a group of average people testing their mental and physical limits. They go through immense pain and potential health risks in order to win their own little American Dream: a new Nissan truck. The documentary demonstrates the American way, and the willingness to work hard and push themselves until they get what they want.
This documentary correlates to the other pieces we have read this semester, due to the ongoing escapist theme. These people abandoned their previous responsibilities (or escaped them) in order to win the truck of their dreams, a truck they would never be able to buy on their own.
The documentary, "Hands on a Hard Body Truck" is a short, strange expression of the American Dream. The documentary is a expression of the American Dream because it has to do with working hard for a result. In the documentary, the person who prepares themselves the most, has the most heart, and works hardest during the time given, will win the truck. Similar things are true in life. If you work hard and are proactive in your own success, then you will be successful.
The story of HOAHBT has such a powerful message because it exposes how people are motivated for money and valuables. The contestants push their body to the limit in order to in a truck that is worth about $1500. Is it worth it? In my eyes it is worth it as long as you believe you have a chance. You never want to look back and say I could have won a truck, instead saying I tried to win a truck. I bevel that this contest connects to the American dream because the only thing that can hold you back in America, is yourself. When you live in America, dont let anything hold you back.
The film we watched pitted a great challenge against all the contestants and I think it embodies the American dream quite well. It starts out with a simple premise like the simple premise of the American Dream, live life to the fullest. Then a select few get the opportunity to pursue the prize due to an initial effort to sign up. In the pursuit of the American dream a few will make an initial effort and will receive the opportunity to achieve there dream. Then through the course of the competition the contestants would fight and control there mental and physical states till only one remains. While not just one person will achieve their American Dream it still requires a lot of fight with few victors.
The truck documentary displays the American dream because everyone is fighting as equals for the same thing. Every player starts out the same and the winner is decided by who fights and can power through the most. This movie relates to all the things we've been reading because it relates to the American dream. In the literature we have been reading every person is trying to better his or her situation in life. A lot of the people try to gain materialistic things to make them happy. Every story makes me feel different about the American dream and thats how our literature relates to the movie. It makes me question my beliefs.
The film "Hand On a Hard Body Truck" embodies the American dream perfectly. For those 24 contestants that truck was all that mattered to them. Their dream was unlike any other American's dream. It made me realize that people can share the same dream, though each dream is unique in their own way. To those people winning that truck meant much more than just the vehicle itself. It represented another aspect of their life. This documentary relates to the literature that we have read this semester because it highlights the dreams of different people in different cultures.
In the film, "Hands on a Hard Body Truck", the American dream is displayed by every person who competed. Some people were more chill about whether or not they win, and others had the mentality that there was no other option but winning. People have those same mentalities towards their life and it can definitely make a difference of whether or not you are successful and being successful is the American dream.
This truck documentary displays the American dream perfectly. The American dream is all about working hard for something in order to achieve your goal. The contestants in the film were all going through a struggle, sacrificing their time in order to win the truck. This documentary shows many different people coming from all different backgrounds, all sacrificing for the same goal. This represents the American dream because the United States is filled with many different people who all are trying to live a happy life. I think the film also shows how competitive Americans are. We all try to be the best at something and I think that adds to the American dream.
H.O.A.H.B shows just how far people are willing to go for their "American Dream." They are willing to put themselves through physical and mental harm just for something that they believe will help them get to their American Dream. It relates to Kate Chopin's writing that we read this semester because the truck can be used as an escape from reality for whoever wins it.
The film "Hands on a Hard Body Truck" is a story of people trying to win a truck in order to live the american dream. The american dream is about competition, glory and the ability to live the life you have imagined through hard work and honesty. In the actual contest we see a diverse group of people from past winners to housemaids and college students. It shows that all of these people are striving to achieve the american dream which with this truck will allow them to do. Honestly if it were me I would sell the truck after I won it and use the money for something else. I can relate to these people because I strive to live the American dream and so do these people who come from every walk of life.
