I liked how every person had a different take on the quote. It showed how everyone has a different perspective on everything in the world, they handle things differently then the next person would. A lot of the responses made me wonder because I had to think about it in a way that I wouldn't have normally thought of. I like how every person is unique in even how they look at a quote and respond to it.

I noticed during the gallery walk that peoples writings were very different from mine. Everyone had different views on the quote. One paper that I read had a lot of information on the author and had many quotes from other people. I liked that person just because it stood out from the others.

I liked the different styles, perceptions, and interpretations by my fellow peers in the class. I like when people made it relatable to everyday life or the reader. I liked when people had the writing flow smoothly and it felt comfortable to read. I like to see when people had clearly written papers and it was easy to read, understand, and comprehend. Some made me wonder why the writer took a certain stance on the topic. I didn't disagree with them and it brought to light that everyone has their own valuable perception on a topic. Some could have been easier to read but overall there wasn't a overall bad response.

During the gallery walk, I noticed the common theme of technology in this day and age, and how it has affected the youth of today. I enjoyed reading papers that explained how the quote no longer applies to today, as we have so many different advances from the time of Willa Cather. Some responses prompted me to contemplate what we are really here for, and what we are meant to do. Some papers began correctly, but eventually got off topic.

Alot of the ideas mentioned were highly similar to one another, and were even similar to the response I wrote. Many of them mentioned technology and how, whether it's for better or worse, technology seems to be what people are moving towards. One paper even talked about Apple computers, and how we've gone from such a big computer to a smaller, thinner, smarter laptop. Another paper I read that interested me was one in which it talked about what men are moving towards is a mix of both good and bad things. While some people move towards advancing society, such has helping in the medical field, others have lost their path and have made their way towards more harmful things. Either way, the ideas were all pretty similar, which surprised me.

There were so many papers that reflected similar opinions as my own. Many people agreed that with modern technology and the ever changing and constant updating of it, it can be very easy to become distracted and miss out on the little things that are important. It can also be hard to find a happy medium though as well, and try to balance the technological and modern perks that the world has to offer with quality time with the people and things that matter. Although technology can have a firm hold on people, it has also opened a lot of doors for our generation. We're doing things today on simple, thin, portable handheld devices in minutes that people just 30 years ago would've never dreamed of. We have all the information we need at the touch of a finger, and that has huge benefits and adds a lot of convenience to our daily lives.

I liked how everyone could see that obviously there are some people that go no where in life and don’t benefit society. While many strive to do bigger and better things in there lives, the few people that do actually make it and change society in a positive way make all the difference in the world. The technology and the way we live our lives has changed so much over time and its all thanks to the people who do try to go somewhere in this world.

The one thing that stood out to me was that some people interpreted the quote the while on the other hand same some didn't. Myself along with many understood the quote as the advancement in technology has bettered us as a society in many ways but has also came with some major downsides. The most prevalent downside being that personal interaction has diminished over the years and many feel more comfortable on Social media networks or communicating over texts. Instead of meeting face to face with friends or individuals. The major different understanding of the quote was that the whole quote related to that of travel. Which I could see where that is true and as it relates to travel we are definitely traveling towards better things. My main question is did Willa Cather intend for the quote to relate to one aspect of life or all aspects of life?

I liked the way Willa uses the quote as a speed. and now that humans are moving faster is it better it makes me wonder if people are making it better and faster. The efficiency is what matters, its the quality in the amount of time. if you can achieve both its better if not slower is better. In modern day people may not care how well something is made but how quickly its made so not better.

I like what I saw because I sort of got the sense that most of the papers believed that the American dream was still alive, but that the way we get to our dream or the people who achieve grows smaller and smaller every day. We move faster to try and get around hurdles rather than leap them is a way to put it. I would say though that may people though that the American dream is different it has grown more lavish.

The Gallery walk allowed me to read and understand other people's interpretation of Cather’s quote. It made me ponder whether or not she is really right or wrong. Are we as a society losing track of what’s important because of what we have at our disposal? Or does the modern world better us and allow us to make new improvements and accomplish our dreams? Doing this Gallery walk was a good opportunity to see into the thoughts of my classmates and better understand my own ideas on the quote. Although Willa Cather’s quote is a little old it still offers something to think about and is very controversial.

After reading the 5 pages around the room I noticed an almost split decision throughout the room. Two of the pages where about how technology is helping people and we are in fact moving faster and moving to better places. Another two were about how men move faster but there is no point to it because they are not going to anything worthwhile they are just doing more useless things in shorter amount of time. The last paper was a little both the writer was not sure how exactly they felt about the quote. After reading the pages I would say i'm on the same side as the last writer. Both sides of the argument are quite convincing and the quote is true in some aspects but falls short in others. It really depends on your perspective of what makes life better.

I think that a lot of people deciphered Willa Cathers quote as, "technology is constantly advancing and this is a bad thing." and then they would agree with her. I disagree, but I can also see where they're coming from. The more technology has advanced, the more humans have developed a dependence on it. But is that really a bad thing? On the social media hand (texting, facebook, twitter, etc.) it may be an unproductive use of time. But technology has allowed us to do so much more. In fact most athletic endeavors owe their achievement to technology because of what computers and studies show as maximum efficiency. Even with texting and other social media, it allows us to keep in touch and let people know of important items of interest. I do not believe that a dependence on technology is a bad thing. We have it, it helps us, why not use it?

I liked how everyone took a different approach on the subject. Some people really agreed and some people really did not agree, but I liked how everyone had there own view and the papers were all different. I think some people went a little extreme with what they were saying but that's natural that humans voice their opinions loudly. Some of the papers did make me question the way I first looked at it which was a little eye opening and made me think a lot but it was kinda nice to get a different perspective.

I liked seeing the quote being related to all the technology today, and everyone’s opinions on it. I also liked how well written and detailed the writing was, and how people were inspired by Cather’s quote. It also was very interesting to see everyone’s different point of views on the topic.

I noticed during the gallery walk that people talked a lot about technology. There were a few other papers that had a lot of information on the author and had many quotes. I liked the papers that had the technology because it has had such a huge impact on our world.

During the blog post I noticed most of the students agreed with Cather’s statement that we are moving too fast and not for the better. But, I think that a lot of people don’t realize that if we didn't move forward quickly we wouldn't have the technology we have today. We wouldn't have the medicine or the technological devices that we are all so dependent on for school work and our social lives. Yes, sometimes our rapid pace of life can be bad, but in my opinion the good technology outweighs the bad. Also, I noticed a lot of short answers and people changing the subject. I enjoyed some papers and their different ways of thinking but most of the papers were pretty much the same.

During the gallery walk I noticed that almost everyone had a different perspective on the quote. I liked this because it shows how each individual person's thoughts and background went to interpreting the quote in a different way. It also made me think about different things that I wouldn't have thought to think of before.

During the Gallery walk I saw many different interpretations of the quote by W. Cather. One in particular was about technology, it talked about how technology is advancing so rapidly now days and there is really no downside to it. However it doesn't take over our lives, we get so much new information so fast that we really do not have time to absorb and interpret it all. Another paper I read during the walk was about how traveling is becoming much faster now days. You can fly across 4 states in a matter of hours, where you used to have to take the train for a week or so. Is it really better though? Now we have such things as Jet lag, and overpriced pretzels to worry about. Not to mention, unless you fly first class you are usually stuck next to some slob with a snoring issue and to make things worse the guy in front of you decides to recline his chair all the way back and burst your personal bubble. A lot of cars now are also being made of carbon and other extremely light materials to maximize speed, but what happens when you crash? thin carbon and aluminum plating aren't going to protect you from the cold hard pavement that you fly into at 100+ mph. That is what I learned during the Gallery walk today.

After reading other peoples paper I really liked that everybody interpreted the quote in a different way. Almost all of them were different than what I thought the quote meant. I thought all the papers were good and they all gave me a different look on the quote.

Although I wasn't here for the gallery walk, I find it interesting how many people interpreted the quote so differently. I would have never even thought that the quote could be lead and interpreted in so many different ways. It is just amazing how so many people can take what you say and see it in such different was from the one thing that you say. Everyone is at a different point and is from different backgrounds which has a profound effect them.

Every quote response I read agreed that men travel faster now. They all disagreed that we do not go to better things. The other responses, as well as mine, thought technology is helping us travel faster and we are going to better things. Technology has become a huge part of our lives. I didn't read one that fully agreed or disagreed with Cather.
